I'm Yours
seduction she was considering. What
if he turned her down? How should she even ask anyway? She needed
to be honest with herself. She was hoping she wouldn’t have to ask.
She was hoping Ian would take the lead. After all, when they’d
kissed earlier, he had said they would finish later. But if he
didn’t, she’d need a plan. When Ian came out of the bathroom in the
sweats he’d been wearing this morning Kara libido overruled her
insecurities.
She took her turn in the bathroom leaving her
hair up and only wanting to wash her body so she would smell fresh.
When she saw the bathtub, she figured that she’d take a few minutes
to soak and relax. After her bath, she put on lotion, took her hair
down and ran her fingers through to help untangle it. She put on
the little T-shirt Meryl had lent her and put back on her panties
she’d been wearing today. It only made sense; it was not practical
to put on new clothes to sleep in.
Ian was sitting up in bed watching the news
when he heard the bathroom door open. It took all his willpower but
he didn’t look. Kara was modest so she was probably wearing her new
shirt and the pants Meryl had lent her, but he also knew she’d be
soft and warm from her bath and that she most likely wasn’t wearing
a bra to bed. He again considered going out to get the sleeping
bag. He probably should have done it while she was in the bathroom
but he’d figured he’d be OK since he had gotten his rocks off
during his shower.
“Do you want me to leave the bathroom light
on,” she asked from the doorway.
“No, it’s best to have it dark…”
Her question had drawn his eyes to her. She
was standing in the doorway, the only real light coming from the
bathroom behind her. She was only wearing the little blue T-shirt
and her panties. All his good intentions were shot to hell as his
cock stood up to salute her amazingly curvy body. The light cut
through the T-shirt and made it sheer. He could clearly see the
outline of her nipples as she turned off the bathroom light and he
could have kicked his own ass for telling her to do it. She walked
to the bed and slid under the covers as he tried to pry his eyes
away from her and back to the TV.
“Do you think we’re really safe Ian?”
“I’m not sure we’re really safe, but we’re
safe enough for the moment.”
“Is it safe enough for us both to sleep or
should we take shifts?”
He could see her eyes were drawn to the gun
he’d set on the nightstand next to his pillow. He wanted to tell
her sleep was the last thing on his mind, but she looked like she
needed to be comforted.
“We’re safe enough that we can both
sleep.”
“What about Ronan? Do you think he’s OK?”
    “I won’t know that until I see him. I’m
worried that he thinks it’s not safe for us to be with him, but he
said Quinn is his backup.”
    “Quinn?”
“Quinn is one of Liam and Meryl’s brothers
and the oldest of all the cousins. My father died when I was
younger so in our family it’s only me and Ronan, but my Da had four
brothers and we have a lot of cousins. Liam, Meryl, Quinn, and
Kieran are one lot. Liam, Quinn, Kieran and I have all backed Ronan
up on occasion, as have most the male cousins. Sometimes when you
don’t know who you can trust, you have to call on family. You can
trust family with your life. If Ronan called in Quinn it’s because
he doesn’t know who he can trust.”
“What does Quinn do? Is he a police
officer?”
“No, but he was trained in military
combat.”
    “He was in the Army?”
“No, he wasn’t in the US military but he was
trained in combat. He’s one tough son of a bitch and he made sure
to teach all us boys how to take care of ourselves especially Ronan
and me since Da died.”
Kara knew about Ian’s dad. Ronan said Ian was
very close to his father and had taken his death very hard. Ronan
had also told her that’s why they’d come to America, to be near
family.
“Does he look like Liam and Meryl?”
    “What do
