into Winter’s embrace. He watched as Garrett assumed the same pose on the other side.
Crystal-blue eyes looked from him to his brother then back again. Then the three turned to look at each other. An endless moment later, the one dressed in purple pulled from Winter’s embrace.
Hawk held his breath as she stood up, found her balance, and slowly toddled his way. Though he watched her closely, he saw that the one in pink got up and headed toward Garrett. He didn’t breathe until she paused just inches from his leg, looking him up and down as if trying to memorize him.
“How do we tell them apart?” Hawk whispered, not wanting to scare her.
“Talia always dressed Carrie in purple, Jessie in pink, and Marissa in yellow,” Winter said.
“So your name is Carrie?” he asked the little girl. Her eyes lit up and she said something, but for the life of him, Hawk did not make sense of it. He smiled gently and held out one hand, palm up. “Nice to meet you, little one.”
He jumped when she slapped her hand down into his palm with a giggle that sent a tingle through him to settle somewhere deep in his chest. Winter laughed as Carrie crawled fearlessly into his lap to rub her cheek against his.
“I’d say she likes you, Hawk,” Winter said as he tickled the little girl in his lap.
“Hey, let go,” Garrett said, drawing their attention in his direction. Jessie had her both hands fisted in his hair as she tried to pull herself up his lap.
Jessie released him then sat down on his crossed ankles with a huff. Her bottom lip quivered, and she looked she was about to cry.
Hawk smiled as his twin looked to Winter with panic in his eyes. “What did I do wrong?”
“I think she wanted to give you a kiss.”
“Oh, well, why didn’t you say so, honey?” With that Garrett gently wrapped his hands around the little girl’s middle and lifted her until they were eye to eye. “Hello, Jessie. I’m Papa Garrett.”
Garrett grinned as she brushed her lips against his before wrapping her arms around his neck and laying her head on his shoulder.
“Well, I guess that answers that question,” Hawk said, knowing exactly what Garrett was feeling as his brother’s chest rumbled with a happy growl.
    “Which question?” Winter said.
“As to whether we’re keeping them or not. We have no choice. Garrett’s in love.”
“That’s fine, but just so you remember I was here first,” Winter snarked.
“Oh, baby, we’ll have no problem remembering that,” Garrett assured him.
“None at all. But we’ll have to move the office so the girls can have that room,” Hawk added. “And we’ll have to…”
“Hawk, all of that can wait until after I’ve had my coffee and we give the girls some breakfast,” Winter said as he set Marissa on her feet on the floor and stood up.

Chapter 9

Anna and Bridget spent the next two days helping the new daddies settle in with the little girls. The girls seemed quite comfortable with the trio of gay men, and there seemed to be a minimum of fuss in making the transition.
The men moved a queen-size mattress to the fortress’s living room where the girls seemed quite happy to sleep once the women had childproofed the first floor and Evan and Frank built a small fence to keep them from climbing the stairs to the second floor.
Autumn’s wedding preparations went along without a hitch, except that the wedding dress she’d ordered had yet to arrive from the dressmaker.
Tuesday morning, Anna decided she needed to get away from the huge crowd of family for a while. Looking at Martin and Robert who sat on either side of her at breakfast, she saw they looked almost as stressed as she felt. They had taken walks up into the mountains every day and talked about Robert’s plans for his second career and their life as a triad. With each conversation, she found herself growing more and more comfortable with the idea of having two men in her life and in her bed.
But right now she needed to be
