but with a few changes their relationship works perfectly for them both again.”
“What sort of changes?” she asked as she forced herself to move out of Malcolm’s embrace and get back to making coffee. The bread was never going to get baked at this rate.
“Well for starters she got a job, a new man, and found her independence.”
“How did that make Viper happy?” she asked suspiciously.
“Brick adores Bianca. Between him and Viper they’ve found a way to balance all of their needs.” He smiled happily. “Bianca just had a baby girl a few weeks ago. They’re not even sure who the father is, and to be honest I don’t think any of them cares.”
“She has two men bossing her around? That was her answer to not being happy with Viper?”
Malcolm laughed softly. “I suppose the short version doesn’t really do the relationship justice, but I promise you, all three of them are very happy.” He nodded his thanks as she handed him a cup of coffee. “The point is that as a trio they choose how much of their lifestyle is based on Dom-sub rules and how much isn’t. I doubt that it’s easy to maintain, but then whose relationship ever is? As adults we’re constantly growing and adapting to the changes in our lives. Our relationships need to grow and change, too.”
“That makes sense,” she said as regret that she’d given up on their marriage so quickly swirled through her. “I’m sorry I didn’t give you a chance to say all of this before I left.”
“To be really honest I doubt I could have at the time. I’d only just discovered the BDSM lifestyle. Back then I didn’t really understand it either.”
    “And now you do?”
He laughed softly again, the familiarity of the sound not lessened by their years apart. “There are so many different facets to the lifestyle that I don’t think one person can really understand it all. We have a few members at Viper’s who indulge in some of the more extreme forms of S&M. I personally can’t understand the pleasure they derive from it, but these days I can at least appreciate that it’s what works for them.”
“So what works for you?” The question was out of her mouth before she truly gave a lot of thought to what the answer might be, but in a way she was glad to have it out there. Maybe knowing that Malcolm had a bevy of beautiful subs lined up to do what he ordered would help her to squash the love that not only hadn’t gone away but was busily rekindling. Considering the confused emotions she still had for Adrian and Alex, it was becoming very crowded inside her head.
“I’m not really sure yet,” he said with a lopsided smile. “I know what I want”—he turned his full attention on her, his eyes bright with emotion—“and I know who I want. I just don’t know where the limits lie for any of us.”
“Any?” she asked. It seemed a strange way to describe a relationship of two.
He searched her eyes again, almost hesitantly, but she couldn’t quite figure out what might come out of his mouth next.
    “You, me, Alex, and Adrian.”
    “Huh?”
He seemed to ignore her confusion. “We’ve arranged to have dinner with some friends tomorrow night and were hoping you would come and maybe meet a couple of the subs and their partners from Viper’s Dungeon. I promise we won’t keep you out too late.”
She glanced down at the batch of dough she’d been making. Thank heavens she’d done this so often that she really didn’t need to think about the ingredients or she could have had an amazing disaster on her hands.
“Just dinner,” she said, trying to remind herself why this was such a bad idea. Sleeping with Adrian and Alex at the same time had been kinky fun, but starting a relationship with three dominant men—one of whom was her ex-husband—seemed like a step in a dangerous direction. She’d left Malcolm for fear of losing her independence. Was she strong enough to have a relationship with all three of them without losing
