at his door.

He let them in and then produced the tape recorder from his back pocket. Jacqueline’s face went white “she confessed.” He said as he pointed to the vial and everything else on the coffee table.

The female officer read Jacqueline her rights as she was dragged out of his house. Cameron saw the paparazzi that took the photos and called him over.

“You want to redeem yourself before I make your life a living hell?” The man sneered at him “I didn’t do anything illegal.”

Cameron glared at him “no but you’re going to right a wrong, do you want the story or not.” The man looked wary then nodded. “Meet me in an hour at the corner Starbucks down the block.”

The man agreed as he got into his car. Cameron looked at his watch and back at his house. One hour to get his life back, once he did, he was going to have a bigger fight convincing the woman he loved he was set up.

    CHAPTER THIRTEEN

    Three weeks later

Samantha felt like death warmed over. After leaving Las Vegas she got in her jet and headed straight for her cabin in Washington State.

She spent the first few days crying and feeling sorry for herself. She purposely left her phone and computer in her messenger bag. She didn’t want to deal with the press or the world.

Her heart was in a million pieces and all she can think of was how much she hurt over Cameron’s betrayal. Before she left she informed Brent he was in charge and to get with Vince to find out what he wanted to do regarding the contracts they had with Cameron.

She didn’t want to let their business fail, but she also didn’t want to be involved with it. She decided she was going to keep her main offices at the Vegas location and since she had a lot of work abroad with Tokyo, Bangkok and now Dubai coming up, she’ll spend the rest of the year traveling to mend her heart.

Samantha was making another cup of tea when she heard a knock on her door. She groaned, she wished her friends would have given her a little time to get herself together before they barged in.

She opened the door and sure enough Vince, Lily, and Emma were at her front door. “So, are you going to let us in?” Lily drawled, Samantha rolled her eyes and stepped aside.

“You didn’t have to come out here, I was going to go back home in a few days.” “Yeah right, more like you would have gone home for a change of clothing then head off to Asia for a year” Lily snapped. Vince gave Samantha a hug “we need to talk, a lot has happened since you went off the grid you might not know.”

“Let me get this straight, the girl showed up and drugged him. Then she got paid ten grand from a photographer so he can take the photos?” Samantha paced the room, rubbing her temples.

For the last two hours Vince and Lily have been giving her the rundown on what occurred after she left Las Vegas. Cameron never knew what was going on because the girl drugged his coffee while he was trying to get her to leave his home.

“Cameron got the full confession as well as finding the vial in her purse. Jacqueline’s former boss is also pressing charges for stealing a controlled substance.” Vince stated as Lily fed Emma her lunch.

Samantha stopped then looked at Vince “so he’s been innocent all this time?” He nodded. “He never slept with her. The girl once the charges started piling up came clean when they were about to charge her with rape.”

Her eyes widened, Vince sighed. “When the officer hit her with the rape she told them she got help from the photographer to undress him and take the photos.”

She wiped the tears from her face. Cameron never betrayed her, yet she jumped to conclusions just from one photo. Samantha new from the past that the paparazzi could distort anything they want and people would believe it, hell she was one of them now.

Vince stood up and placed a hand on her shoulder.
