know about?“ he demanded meaningfully.
„Oh, no. Everything else is the real me!“ she assured him throatily, aroused by the flash of humor that
had entered the heavy desire that was permeating the room. In a way she couldn’t describe there was a
kind of reassurance about it. If York had seldom seen her smile during the past three weeks, it was equally
true that she had rarely witnessed his. The danger in him was still unarguably present, but Selena suddenly
thought she could handle it as long as there was a gentler side.
She had better be able to handle it, she thought fleetingly as he drew her closer, tangling his strong,
teasingly rough legs with her silky ones, because there was no way she could halt the onslaught tonight.
„The real you is what I came all this way to find,“ York assured her in a voice of thickest velvet.
„Is that…“ Selena touched her lip with the tip of her tongue and tried again. „Is that the only reason you
came after me?“ she breathed tremulously, searching his face for hidden meanings.
    „The only reason.“
She sighed in acceptance of the night and what it would bring, her arms going around him as York bent
his head to her throat with a groan of desire. The only reason. If the fascination was mutual, surely there
    was hope?
The tips of her bronze-toned nails began to draw designs of passion over the thrusting contours of his
back. The primitive artistry was an instinctive response to the sensual patterns he was weaving on the
canvas of her body. Selena’s breath caught in her throat as York strung a trail of heated, damp kisses from
the small bones of her shoulder to the aching peaks of her delicate breasts.
There his mouth stayed to tease and pet and excite until the devastating ache of need spread out into the
farthest reaches of her body, bringing it fully alive and aware of the only man who could now satisfy it.
„Touch me, Selena,“ he pleaded roughly, guiding one of her fluttering hands down his chest, over the flat,
male nipple and beyond. „I’ve wanted to know your touch!“
„York, oh, York!“ she gasped huskily as he pressed himself testingly against her thigh. She felt the
undeniable force in him and it sent ripples of excitement through her. The reckless fascination grew and
    grew within her.
The obvious depths of his desire for her deepened the element of wonder. No man, not even her
ex-husband, had wanted her with this elemental, raging need. To be wanted so badly was an incredible
seduction in and of itself, she realized, shaken. Whatever his motives, there could be no doubt of the
honesty of York’s longing for her. To have come all this way for her!
„I can hardly believe I’ve finally got you in my arms and that this time you won’t be running away,“ he
grated against the skin of her stomach. His hand traced caressing circles across her hip, down to her knee,
and began to work slowly back up the inside of her thigh.
„Oh!“ Selena moaned as York tantalized and provoked with the thrilling patterns he was making. She
arched against the pressure of his hand and he leaned more heavily across her, letting his greater weight
impress itself on her body. It was a preliminary action, a way of making her aware of the impending
    culmination.
„Tonight you are the canvas and I am the artist,“ he promised softly. „I will put my colors, my designs,
my signature, on you. I won’t leave any blank spaces for any other man to come along and fill. You will be
    completely mine!“
The harsh possession in his words seeped through the layers of sensual excitement, eliciting a faint
warning, a warning Selena knew she should be heeding. Always the fascination she had known around this
man had been tempered with that sense of warning. But tonight she couldn’t do anything about it. It was all
out of her hands. The slender, curving length of her wanted to know the imprint of him.
    „Sometimes,“ she managed with deliberate
