you get flustered and angry, but don’t
misunderstand. I love you when you’re shy and embarrassed too.”
    “Did you just say
you loved me?” Pat swallowed.
    It seemed odd that
those words were coming from an attractive man like Jules. A man like Jules
always travelled from place to place, never settling, but Pat realized he liked
the darker and more profound side of Jules too. Even now, he could taste the
mind numbing rage his mate had felt. Pat’s human side could barely contain his
wolf from running straight into the killer to defend his mate, but then if both
of them were dead, who was there to avenge Jules’s first mate?
    Pat wouldn’t be
able to keep his promise to Desmond either. His promise that
he’d live.
    “Well, perhaps
love is too strong a word.” Jules licked his lips and Pat decided he liked
seeing Jules looking so unsettled.
    “Just shut up and
kiss me,” Pat said, surprised by the own force of his words.
I helped Jules let go of his past. It’s time to let go of my past
too.
    He knew a good
thing when it was in front of him and it was past time he stopped letting his
insecurities about himself get the better of him. Jules liked him, every part
of him. Even the parts he personally loathed and hated.
    “Yes, sir,” Jules
said smartly and leaned closer to kiss Pat again.
    Pat responded
passionately and with nothing to hold him back, he took his time familiarizing
and exploring the taste of his new mate with his lips and tongue. Jules tasted
fine, he decided. Sweet. Like warm wine poured down
his throat. They bit, licked and kissed, eager to know every inch of each other.
    The world melted
again, and the ravenous desire that raged inside Pat in woods resurfaced.
Nothing mattered except the meeting of their flesh again. They tore at each
other’s clothes like animals incapable of doing anything else but giving in to
the lust that drove them. Their unnecessary clothes fell from them in a hurry.
Jules groaned, rubbing himself against Pat while Pat slid his hands over the
hard sexy lines of Jules’s body.
    Pat’s mouth moved
down Jules’s strong jaw to the curve of his neck. Pat idly licked and playfully
nipped at the tempting bit of skin. His shy human half was fading away. No it
wasn’t fading away, Pat realized. It was merging with the carnal hungers of his
wolf. Now that his wolf and human had found some solace in knowing Jules loved both
sides of him, it no longer wanted to hold back.
    Groaning, Jules
desperately and vigorously rubbed himself against Pat, who was well aware of
his mate’s growing erection.
    “Please…” Jules
murmured, clutching Pat closer to him.
    He groaned when Pat’s
little nips turned into a bite. Jules shuddered against him.
    “Liked that,
wolf?” Pat licked at the bite, wondering if he bit too hard.
    “That was sure as
hot as hell,” Jules muttered.
    “Say that again
and I’ll cover you with my bite marks and show the world who you belong to.”
    His mate shuddered
at the thought, and his body quivered helplessly against Pat. Knowing he could
render his mate like this, that he could bring Jules pleasure, made Pat
content.
    The mischievous
glint in Jules’s sapphire eyes appeared and he mouthed, “That was sure as hot
as hell.”
    Jules yelped when
Pat pushed him down. They both rolled and hit the soft-carpeted floor.
    “If you’re begging
to be hammered, then I’ll soon give it to you.” A dark haze of desire filled
Pat. Jules had the gall to paw at his half-erect cock, but Pat batted his hand
away. “Let’s make sure those hands aren’t going anywhere.”
    Pat’s gaze fell on
their discarded clothes beside them on the floor. They would have to do. Jules
only watched him with lazy eyes, eyes Pat enjoyed watching as they widened with
knowledge when Pat picked up a shirt and began to tear it into strips.
    “Don’t get up. If
I see you getting up, you’re not getting any.”
    That made Jules
stay put. With strips in hand, Pat grabbed both of
