juice then tighten my arms around my legs as I gaze once more out into the obscurity of the ocean.
As promised, Aidan took the rest of the evening slow, adorably worshiping every inch of my body and I in return worshiped his.
That part of the evening was fantastically blissful however I couldn’t help my mind wandering back to something he said earlier last night that was somewhat unsettling.
What could have possibly happen to him as a little boy that now as a grown adult he would adversely reject the notion of love in his life. What dreadful event in his childhood would lead him to this place in his life now? Was he truly capable of opening up, sharing his life with another?
And perhaps the most important question – is he capable of loving me the way I love him?
“Hey baby,” murmurs Aidan, kissing the top of my head startling me.
I was so l ost in my thoughts I didn’t hear him come up behind me.
“Hey. Did I wake you?” I say, unfolding myself.
“Yes. I woke up and you weren’t in bed. I thought for a second there you left but then I saw your cloths on the floor,” he replies, he gaze speculative.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you. I couldn’t sleep so I thought I would get a drink and come out here and enjoy the cool breeze.”
“What’s keeping you up?” He asks pulling me out of the chair so he can sit down. He pulls me back down between his legs wrapping his arms tightly around me.
I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the indescribable feelings of warmth and safety that flood through me when I’m wrapped in Aidan’s embrace.
“I must of had a weird dream… it woke me but for the life of me I can’t remember any of it. And it’s so calm and tranquil out here, I guess I lost track of the time,” I whisper, folding my arms over his.
“Hmm,” he murmurs, resting his chin on the top of my head.
“You know I meant every word I said last night Gabriella. No more wasting time. No reservations. Last night was the beginning of us baby. I’m all in this and last night you committed to be all in this too. There’s no turning back. Okay?”
He tightens his arms around me, placing a kiss on my cheek as I shiver at the unyielding resolution ringing through his tone. It’s one of resounding finality and although I couldn’t think it possible after our talk last night, my heart soars higher at his words of proclamation.
Attempting to lighten the moon, I twist around to face him brushing my lips lightly against his.
“Your so in trouble now Mr. Stone. You have no idea how stubborn I can be,” I joke, winking at him.
“Oh… I have some idea button,” he chuckles, tapping his forefinger against my nose.
                  “Button?”
“Yes button . You have the cutest little button nose,” he says, nipping playfully at my nose with his mouth before placing another kiss on it.
“Come on. Let’s get you back to bed,” he orders standing up from the chair and lifting me with him.

    Chapter Eight

                  “Wow G. Unbelievable. Just un-freaking-believable! I’m… speechless.”
“Now that’s a first M,” I mock, laughing. “Okay, I have to go now Mia, works piling up here.”
“Oh no you don’t. I need more details so spill Gabby,” demands Mia petulantly.
“I’ve told you everything, now seriously I have to go. Jeremiah’s getting impatient,
