out. We knew the boys would know where to look,
but she didn’t want to help Seth put the furniture back into the
house. I still couldn’t believe I had agreed to help her with that
particular adventure, though what she did to Xavier’s house was
priceless. Both our phones had been ringing for the past half hour
and we’re both waiting on someone to start pounding on the door
looking for her, knowing her, whoever it was, was going to be
fucked with, Devi bored was not a good thing.
    We were sitting at the
computer googling guys and listening to Avenged Sevenfold, our latest
crushes, when someone started pounding on the door.
    “Devlin Shaye Taylor, I know your scrawny ass
is in there,” bellowed Drake through the door. She, of course,
started giggling; I rolled my eyes and went to open the door.
    “Hey, Drake.”
    “Where is the li'l shit?”
    “In the living room.” I moved out of the way
and let him in; wondering what was going to come out of her
mouth.
    She didn’t even bother looking at him. “Hey
do you think Seth would be pissed if I slept with Matt?”
    Drake stopped cold and had a look of utter
confusion on his face. I had to cover my mouth to stop from
laughing. “Matt?”
    “M. Shadows” Devi answered looking at the
computer screen.
    “Uhm, yeah pretty sure Seth would be pissed,
wait, isn’t he married?”
    “Well, yeah but so am I,” she popped off.
    At this point, I couldn’t breathe from trying
not to laugh at the sight of Drake's face.
    “See most couples have lists of who they can
sleep with if ever given the chance. Well, I know my top three so I
thought why not give it a try.”
    “Devi, it’s not going to work.”
    “Huh, what’s not?” she gave him an innocent
look, she almost pulled off.
    He sighed and ran his hands through his hair
pulling at the ends a sure sign she was getting to him—bad move on
his part.
    “Seth wouldn’t go for it,” he said. “Plus, I
am pretty sure you wouldn’t want him sleeping with anyone else,
quid pro quo and all that.”
    She huffed out a breath and nodded her head.
“Good point.” Then went back to her search. At this point, I
couldn’t hold it in anymore and fell on the couch laughing.
    “I’m glad you find all this funny.”
    “Your face was—” I couldn’t finish.
    “Devlin, why did you fuck with my house?”
    She gave him a confused look. “What’s wrong
with your house? I went by yesterday to check on it and everything
was fine.”
    He growled which caused me to laugh
harder.
    “Devi, go home, Seth is looking for you.”
    She waved him off. “He knows where I am.”
    “Wait, where are the kids?”
    She looked over at me and shrugged. “I don’t
really know where they are.”
    His face started turning purple and I knew I
had to intervene at this point before she gave him a stroke.
    “All three are with Ash,” I responded before
he could wrap his fingers around her throat.
    He nodded. “Devi, go home.”
    “Fine,” she grumbled. “Oh and by the way
everyone is coming over to our house tomorrow for Christmas
Eve.”
    “All right, see you tomorrow.”
    She leaned up on her tiptoes and gave him a
kiss on the cheek. “Bye bro, bye Mags.”
    I looked at Drake. “I love your sister.”
    “She’s a pain in the ass,” he grumbled.
    “Yes, and you love having this Devi
back.”
    “Yeah, I do.”
    “So how was it?”
    “Interesting, I learned about what I would be
doing, not much different than my current job. I think it will be
fun though, only thing I am not looking forward to is being X’s
babysitter.”
    I wrinkled my nose at that. “Oh that’s just
mean.”
    He walked over to me and wrapped his arms
around my hips, leaned down and nuzzled my neck. “So where is my
princess?”
    “Ash took them all to go Christmas
shopping.”
    He nodded. “Miss me?”
    “A little,” I replied breathlessly. He was
