Through the Eyes of a Male Submissive
willing to service me in any way possible.”
Via’s father sat there, his cheeks brightening. Now I understood where she got her perverted mind.
Before anyone else could so much as take another breath, the maid appeared in the doorway and announced dinner was now being served. I escorted my woman into the dining hall. She still had a hold on her father, guiding him along the way.
Observing everyone as they came into the room, I decided to speak. “I would like to say something before we take our seats, if that would be alright.”
Five pair of eyeballs were burning holes in my face, waiting for me get on with it. Trying my best to ignore the pressure, I took a hold of Via’s hand and whirled her. “Olivia Johnson, my life has spiraled out of control ever since I laid eyes on you. I have never met anyone that can even compare to you. You are the most aggravating, annoying, stubborn, and bull-headed woman I ever encountered.” I stooped onto my right knee and keeping my eyes on her, drew the turquoise Tiffany’s ring box out of my pocket. “You are the kindest, sweetest, and the most gorgeous woman. Baby, will you please make me the happiest man alive? All you have to do is say yes.”
My mother gasped in the background. As much as I wanted to see their shocked expressions, I did not remove my eyes from Via. Say yes, baby.
She covered her mouth using her free hand and I saw the tears forming into her eyes.
Shit! I made her cry. Damn! Fuck!
After several seconds, she nodded her head and removed her hand from her face. She wrapped her arms around my neck. “There isn’t anything else I want more in this world than to be your wife, Ryan Rayner!”
As I inhaled her saccharine scent, I could not help but wonder if she was being sincere or if she had switched into submissive mode. S he would not dare do so considering my parents and her father are here, would she?
At this point, I did not care if it was the submissive talking or not. I hugged her, pressing her frame against my chest. She kissed me after I placed the five-karat ring on the proper finger.
She whispered into my ear, “I thought we agreed on no extraordinarily expensive gifts?”
“I believe this falls under the category of a necessity, Miss Johnson,” I informed her, as I pulled a chair away from the table for her.
    “Sit.”
“Uh-oh, did I make a mistake and agree to marry someone who is more domineering than I am?” I asked, smiling as I took my seat.
I looked up to see that Via and I were the only ones sitting.
“Why is everybody staring?” I asked.

Chapter Eight
My mother was the first to move, taking her seat across the table from us. She smiled. “There is a wedding in our future. How much further into the future are we thinking here?”
I took a hold of Via’s hand, casually squeezing. “I am leaving this up to my wife-to-be. If it were up to me, we would have gotten married shortly after our date in Vegas.”
Via’s eyes widened to the size of almonds. She hated being put in the spotlight, but I found it delightful.
“I do not mind waiting a month… Or six … A year, even.”
“How about the two of you compromise? Does three months sound reasonable enough?” My mother stared at us with her diplomatic gaze.
My lovely bride tried her best at winning the stare-down with my mother, but failed. “September—I have always wanted a fall wedding.”
That right there was when I knew she had been lying through her pearly whites. She hated the idea of marriage since the one between her mom and dad had failed. There was no fucking way she had her hopes on being an autumn bride!
    * * * *
Caressing her hand I asked her as soon as Charlie pulled out of my parents’ driveway, “How much trouble am I in now?”
She glared at me. I wasn’t sure if she was being playful or serious. “You are in beyond trouble. You are so fucking lucky my special room is in Aspen.”
“What would you do to me?”
    She blinked her eyes,
