new," Ann said very cheerfully, perhaps a
little worried I might start to cry on her once again. "You have
not yet met Emma. She has been very eager to make your acquaintance."
Emma came up to me and hooked her arm through mine. "Come, let's
let the men go about their day."
I turned and looked back at Mason and Brody standing with Andrew. A
smile was all I could offer as I was whisked away.
In the kitchen, Ann took my boots and sat them by the back door next
to another pair. "I should be civilized and offer you tea, but
we are both coffee drinkers. Is that all right with you?"
I nodded. Emma ran a hand over her belly. It wasn't overly prominent
yet, but she would soon need to alter her dresses. "When will
the baby come?" I asked.
    "Summer," Emma replied, smiling.
"She never was sick in the mornings as I was, which makes me
furious," Ann chided.
Emma grinned and waggled her eyebrows. "You were as lusty as I."
Ann blushed, but did not deny it. "Enjoy it now." She
pouted and looked down at the sleeping baby in the cradle. "Your
men won't touch you again for weeks and weeks. Perhaps not ever,"
she grumbled.
"What? I've seen them touch you and you seemed quite pleased."
Ann pursed her lips. "True, but they haven't fucked me
since before the birth. I'm healed. Truly. Yet they insist on
pleasing me in other ways."
The way they spoke of what she did with her husbands so openly and
easily surprised me.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Laurel. You are not familiar with such ways,"
Ann replied.
I shrugged and felt my cheeks heat, my virginity a hindrance in
participating in the conversation.
"Surely Mason and Brody have showed you some of what they
will do with you?" Ann looked at me so hopefully. I was
discovering she was quite the romantic.
"All of the men at Bridgewater are lusty and those two certainly
can't keep their hands off you. Your red hair is so pretty,"
Emma added.
Lusty wouldn't begin to describe Mason and Brody. They
were...dominant, possessive, potent, thoughtful, demanding,
considerate. Kind.
Both women looked at me expectantly. "You saw me last night,
Ann, wearing just Mason's shirt. Obviously something has
happened with them, but...I...I can't share." I was too
mortified to even think about it, let alone share it with others.
Emma's eyebrows rose and Ann told her the details, including my hasty
retreat. "They are being very protective with you."
The baby started to fuss so Ann picked him up, tucked him into her
arm and opened her blouse for him to nurse, the boy's chubby hand
patting her absently. She
seemed quite adept at being a mother, even with the baby so young.
Emma took a sip of her coffee. "Within the first hour of
arriving at the ranch with Kane and Ian, Mason came to the bedroom
door to announced dinner as they shaved my pussy and stretched my ass
for the first time. I was completely naked and although he couldn't see what they were doing, he knew . For me, it was
mortifying."
My mouth fell open and a strange feeling washed over me. Mason had
been a part of that, even only tangentially? He'd known what her
husbands were doing to her? I didn't like it. I didn't like it one
bit. I pulled out a chair and sat down. Did that mean Mason was just
using me to pass the time? To use for pleasure during a blizzard and
that was all?
Ann placed her hand over mine pulling me from my thoughts. "You
look as if you want to scratch Emma's eyes out." That had me
stirring from my jealous thoughts. That was what I was. Jealous.
"Emma had no control over the situation, as you can imagine. Do
not think poorly of Mason either. As you learned last night, the men
have different ways. Honorable ways that perhaps go against how we
were raised, the town, everyone, but honorable nonetheless. Perhaps
even more so. Do not worry over Mason's devotion, for he will tend to
only you."
I frowned. "This word, tended, is used often around here."
Ann shrugged. "That's because it's what our husbands do to us.
They tend to our needs. Theirs as
