one more time before he gritted his teeth and growled loudly, his body
stilling inside me as his release rocked him hard. I watched his face as he
emptied himself inside my body and I choked back more tears. Jude looked like
he might faint from pleasure and that made my heart soar.
    “Oh
God, Sadie,” he cried out, riding out the last of his orgasm. I felt so elated
hearing him crying out my name as he came. When he was spent, he held onto me
and took me with him as he collapsed back on my bed, exhausted from making love
to me. I slowly slid off of him and snuggled into his side.
    “That
was amazing,” I said, stifling a yawn.
    Grabbing
the spare blanket off the end of the bed, he covered us up and asked, “You
tired?”
    I
grinned and rested my chin on his shoulder.
    “All
of that love making took it out of me, what can I say?”
    Jude
laughed and kissed my forehead.
    “Well,
I’m exhausted. I’ve never had sex that felt like that.”
    “So,
it was good I take it?” I asked.
    “Oh
Sadie,” he said, “that was incredible . Seriously…the best I’ve ever
had.”
    My
eyes widened in disbelief.
    “I
was your best sex ever ? You’re just saying that,” I teased, hoping
beyond hope that he was being honest.
    Jude
traced the curve of my cheek with his hand.
    “No
I’m not. I have never lied to you, princess, and I’m not about to start now.
You are so fucking perfect.”
    My
heart leapt and I kissed him deeply before snuggling into his side.
    “Well
that’s a total lie, Jude, but you are so sweet to say that.”
    “It’s
the truth, princess.” Jude traced a pattern on my back with his fingers and I
was just about to fall asleep when I heard him sigh from where deep.
    I
lifted my heavily lidded eyes and asked, “Something on your mind, big guy?”
    “It’s
nothing, baby. Let’s get some sleep,” he said, kissing my hair.
    I
leaned up and looked at his eyes.
    “Jude,
don’t lie to me. What’s wrong? It’s not me, is it?” I asked, suddenly insecure.
    “Oh
no, trust me, it’s not you. I’m just…” he said, stopping for a moment.
    I
rubbed his chest with my hand comfortingly and waited for him to continue.
    “Tonight
was amazing, Sadie, and I don’t know what’s going to come of it. I was just
thinking that I hope I don’t make you run away. Deep down I’m a pretty fucked
up guy and you’re too important to me.”
    I
leaned up on my elbow and placed a hand on his cheek. I forced him to turn his
head toward mine.
    “Jude,
you could never make me run away. I didn’t have the best childhood, in case you
forgot. Hell, my mother used to bring guys home from the bar almost every night
and she’d fuck them when I was in the next room. Some of them would smack me
around after they’d beat the shit out of her. A few tried to do some even worse
things,” I said, anger starting to flare in me.
    He
ran his fingers through my hair and his ever-changing eyes changed from a light
gray to almost black as I looked into them.
    “Sadie…”
he whispered sadly.
    I
shook my head and smiled at him.
    “It’s
okay. I don’t want you to feel sorry for me because I am not sorry for anything
I went through. Everything that happened has made me the bad ass I am today,” I
said and he huffed out a laugh.  “Granted, no child should ever grow up the way
most of us did but if I can take anything positive from it I learned to fight
back and protect myself against anything. Because of what my mom did and let
others do to me and Beau, I know how not to raise my child if I ever have one.”
    Jude
guided my lips to his and he kissed me deeply. I felt tingly all over as his
tongue danced with mine. He broke the kiss and left me breathless as he said,
“You are just about the most awesome person I know. I wish I was as positive as
you are. I am still carrying around a lot of anger toward my mom and what I
went through as a kid. It pales in comparison to what you and Beau had to deal
with, but I just haven’t
