harder. Being able to rotate the bike in a way that would ensure a smooth landing was trying as fuck, and only a couple guys out there really had them down. I intended on becoming one of them. A few more clean tries and I’d be ready for dirt. Hopefully by the end of the next week I’d be landing them on hard ground without a problem.
It was late afternoon, and I was done for the day. I shielded my eyes against the sun as I watched my motorcycle being hauled up. I dusted the foam bits off my gear as I climbed out of the pit.

A nice, cool shower was exactly what I’d needed after a hot day on the bike. As the cold water washed down over my body it cleaned away all the dirt and sweat of the day. The chilly water also helped to clear the erotic thoughts I was having about Sam from my mind. Last night had been amazing, and I was dying to touch her again.
I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my waist. I didn’t bother to dry off completely, and water dripped down over my chest and back. I’d left my cell phone out on the kitchen counter and I went to get it. I lived alone in a small, one bedroom house and I loved having my own space. I’d had roommates before, but that shit had gotten old when I could never be alone. Nothing like fucking a hot chick who’s bent over the kitchen table and having your pain in the ass roommate barge right in. Talk about mood killer. I’d learned my lesson, and I valued my independence.
I grabbed up my phone and dialed Sam’s number.
She answered on the third ring. “Hello?”
“Hey, babe, what are you up to?”
I heard a door close in the background. “I’m actually just about to go out for a run.”
“All right, well I won’t keep you long but I have an idea to run past you,” I said.
    “Mhmm?”
“Josh and Jessie are going out to the desert this weekend, and they invited us along. What do you think?” She hesitated and I continued on through the awkward silence. “If you don’t want to go that’s fine—”
Sam cut me off. “It sounds fun. When are they leaving?”
I was instantly relieved that she wanted to go. I didn’t know what the hell was happening to me, but I’d just felt nervous about talking to a girl. That was a first. “They are heading out tomorrow morning, but we can take our time and meet up with them later in the day if you want.”
“Okay cool. Just let me know what time I should be ready.”
“How does 12:30 sound?” I asked.
    “Perfect. I’ll see you then.”
“Have a good run,” I said before I hung up.

Chapter 22
    Sam
I’d taken practically all of the items from my dresser drawers, and I was sitting among a pile of clothes on my carpet and I was at a complete loss. I had no idea what I was supposed to wear or bring for the weekend. I decided to phone in the expert.
Jessie answered after just a couple rings. “Hey, Sam! I’m so excited that you and Cory are going with us tomorrow.” I could practically hear my best friend smiling through the speaker.
I laughed at her enthusiasm and then got to the point. “What the heck am I supposed to bring for a weekend in the desert?”
“Well, I’d suggest jeans and a few cute tops. I think the boys are planning on taking us riding,” she answered.
“Riding? Cory didn’t mention that part.”
“Oh, and it gets chilly at night so be sure to pack a jacket. We’re going to have so much fun!” I had to admit I was excited about the trip too. However, I think most of my enthusiasm was stemming from the thought of spending an entire weekend with Cory, not from the idea of camping out in the sand.
Jessie coached me through the rest of my packing. “After that warm-up you told me about on the mountain road the other night, I bet you’ll be getting the full freakin’ treatment this weekend,” she said suggestively.
    I hadn’t mentioned last night’s sexcapades to her yet. “Yeah . . . about that . . .”
“What?” she questioned. “Oh my gosh! You
