Never Ever
see your wheels turning. I was just kidding.”
I got up and pulled on a tank top and a pair of cut off shorts. I grabbed his ball cap off the night stand and put it on. He licked his lips. I smiled at him before walking into the house.

    Chapter Twenty:
    Taylor

What in the holy hell had just come out of my mouth?! I just basically asked her if I could fuck her without a condom. I would love to say that I actually had been kidding. I would love to say that I was just that horny, just that desperate to get back inside her. But I’m afraid that neither was the case. I had liked the idea of not wearing one with her. Like the idea of it turned me on even more. I pulled on my shorts and went out the side door in search of a cold shower and a lobotomy.
After I showered and mentally beat the shit out of myself, I wondered into the kitchen. Livi was standing at the counter, wearing yet another pair of tiny shorts and my baseball cap, pouring a pitcher of smoothies into plastic cups. I leaned over her shoulder, “What’s that?” She used her ass to push me back, glancing in the direction of the table where everyone was siting. I snorted, “Sugar, if you coming out of your room wearing my hat doesn’t make your friends suspicious, then me touching your shoulder isn’t going to either.”
She ignored me, “Hangover cure. Seems after we went to bed, those guys all kept drinking.”
I leaned in to whisper in her ear, “After we went to bed?” Her body tensed when she realized what she had said. No one had caught it though, they were all that hung over. I grabbed the tray of cups and brought it to the table, passing them around. I took a sip of Cole’s before handing it to him. “What’s in this? It tastes like shit.”
Cole snorted, “Tell us Tay, what exactly does shit taste like?”
I got down next to Cole’s ear and spoke loudly, “YOU MAKE THE LAMIEST JOKES WHEN YOU ARE HUNG OVER.” I laughed when he grabbed his head in pain. I patted his back, “Drink your shit smoothie, buddy.”
Livi came and sat down next to Kate, pulling her in for a hug. I was jealous. “It does not taste like shit. It tastes healthy. It’s full of fruit, B12 drops, electrolytes, and beer. It hydrates you and gives you a little hair of the dog.” She stroked Kate’s hair, “You guys will feel better in no time.”
Baily slammed her smoothie like I was an Irish Car Bomb. She pulled out her phone and handed it to Livi. “Patrick called me this morning looking for you. He said you weren’t answering your phone.”
Livi paled, “Oh, uh, weird. I didn’t have a missed call from him. I’ll call him back later.”
Baily sat her phone down in front of Livi, “Call him now. He seemed really worried about you.”
I must have had a weird look on my face because Cole kicked me under the table. I got up and walked outside. For some reason I just didn’t want to listen to Livi pretend to be married. I turned when the screen door open. Livi came out carrying Baily’s phone. She sat down in a chair and put the phone down beside her. I leaned against the railing, arms folded across my chest. “You going to call him?”
She looked up at me, defeated, “No. He knows I haven’t told them about the divorce. He’s just being an ass. Baily wouldn’t let up though.”
    “She’s protective over you.”
Livi shrugged, “She knows something’s up. She’s just trying to get it out of me.”
Livi looked so sad. The playful sexy girl I had been with all morning had left the second her ex-husband had been brought up. I wanted to beat the shit out of her ex, I wanted Baily to leave her alone, and I wanted to have my happy Livi back. My ? “Let’s get out of here.”
She smiled, good sign. “Where are we going? What if everyone wants to come with us?”
I laughed, “Where we’re going Sugar, they won’t want to follow.” I held out my hand, needing to touch her. She took it and for some reason I don’t want to think
