trip?”
“It went good, babe. Thanks.” He tips his head back and sniffs. “What’s that amazing smell?”
“My grandma’s famous lasagna. Would you like to stay? My brother and your sister are coming over. There’s going to be plenty.”
I set the phone down and start to head into the kitchen, but he stops me. He wraps my hand around his hand and pulls my head back. “I’d love to stay.”
His lips descend on mine and he ravishes my mouth. There’s no other way to describe it. He thrusts his tongue into my mouth and grabs my lower lip with his teeth, sucking it gently into his mouth. His tongue eases the sting. His touch is gentle, yet urgent.
The kiss goes on and on. He seems to have missed me, and the very thought that he missed me warms something inside of me. His hair is in a man bun, so I grab the leather strap and pull it out of his hair. My fingers sift through the soft strands.
“I hate to interrupt the show, but gross!” I freeze at the sound of my brother’s voice. I pull back and turn toward my brother. Jordan stands by the front door with a big, stupid grin on his face.
I bite my lip and bury my head in Gabe’s neck. “Gabe, this is my twin brother, Jordan. Jordan, this is Jill’s brother, Gabe.”
Gabe wraps one of his arms around my back and shakes my brother’s hand with the other. Jordan stares at him with goo-goo eyes. I smack Jordan in the back of the head and tell them to go sit in the living room. I give both of them a beer. Then I enter the kitchen and grab my phone. I have a text message from Jill.

Hey girlie, I’m not going to make it. I feel ill.

Oh no! Do you need me to come over after Jordan leaves?

No, I’ll be okay. I’m just going to lie down and see if I feel better.

Okay, well I love you and I will call u in the am. Xoxoxo

The lasagna only has a bit longer, so I grab a bottle of water and join Gabe on the couch. He and my brother are discussing football factoids. I don’t follow sports, so I just sit and listen to the two of them. My brother has never had a problem talking to people he doesn’t know. Gabe doesn’t seem to have that problem either.
The timer goes off and I excuse myself to get things ready. I pull the lasagna out first and smile because it looks exactly like Grandma’s used to. I let it cool while I mix the salad and the garlic bread heats up. I’m putting the finishing touches on the salad when I feel Gabe wrap his arm around my waist. He kisses my neck and whispers, “If you want me to, I’ll go so you and your brother can spend time together.”
It’s really sweet of him to offer. “No, stay. I want you to.” He turns me around and pulls me against his body. His kisses are sweet and gentle. This man certainly knows how to woo. I pull back and smile. “Go sit and I’ll let you guys know when it’s ready.”

My brother moans as he shoves a forkful of lasagna into his mouth. “This is the shit, Jazzy. You’re sending some home with me, right?”
Dinner has been going surprisingly well. I learned that Jordan already knew who Gabe was and that when Gabe played for Chicago, they called him The Hammer because he hit so hard when he tackled someone. When I’m alone, I’m going to have to Google him and see what I can find.
Now I’m sitting at the table, watching them both shovel the lasagna in. It’s amazing how quiet men get while they’re eating. Jordan and Gabe occasionally groan or grunt. They both act like they have never eaten before.
I excuse myself and scoop the remaining lasagna into containers for Jordan, my mom, and Gabe, if he wants it. I wrap up the garlic bread into two servings. While the sink fills with soapy water, I check on the boys and see that they’re both finished. I grab their plates and rinse them off before sticking them into the soapy water. Jordan joins me and takes the sponge out of my hand.
“Let me get the dishes. You go sit with your man.” He kisses my
