Damn it, Nate, you scared me.” I grabbed my breasts, covering them. I hadn’t heard him come in.
“Sorry, babe. I heard the shower, and I couldn’t pass up a chance to see you naked. Give me a kiss and I’ll let you shower in peace.”
I moved to the edge of the shower, and he pulled me to him, not caring that he was getting wet. He growled before taking my mouth. Every kiss was intense yet soft. I moaned in his mouth, which made him grunt before wrenching himself away from me.
“You’re too much, Jess. I’m going to make you something to eat.”
    “I love you too, Nate.”
“Thank heavens for that.” He smiled and walked out of the room, but not before picking up his dirty towels.
After washing, I grabbed my clothes and got dressed. My mind and heart felt so damn peaceful. It struck me that one day, this could all fall apart. That thought was almost enough to make me ready to run again, but I’d rather have a short time with him than nothing.
“Why do you look so damn sad?”
I jumped. “You did it again. How can someone so big like you creep up on me?”
“Maybe you’re just not paying attention. You looked lost in thought, some negative thoughts. Do you regret last night?” He moved to kneel at my feet and stared into my eyes.
“Not at all. I just hoped that I wasn’t a flash in the pan. It scares me that we might not last.”
“Don’t ever think that. I have no intentions of letting you even leave the house, let alone walk out of my life. There’s a lot you don’t know about me and my family. If I told you the truth, you might realize how crazy I am for you and run. I can’t have that, so I love that you’re afraid to lose this. It gives me hope that you won’t run screaming.” He pressed his cheek into my hand before looking back up at me. “It has to do with my father, but I just want you to know that I’ll never hurt you, and I don’t want us to ever end. Forever, growing old and grey with twenty grandkids.”
    “That’s a lot of grandkids.”
He nodded then stood. His mouth twisted into a wicked grin before tasting my mouth. I moaned, sliding my hands along his smooth head.
“Well, I plan to knock you up with at least six little Hendricks boys, and maybe we can talk about having some girls.”
“Talk about it? I don’t think you get that choice.” There were ways to choose a baby’s sex, but I wanted to let things take their course.
“It’s okay. I said so, so it is. No little beauties like you and my sister. I don’t think my heart could handle having to let them go one day. I’ve had my share today alone.”
“Do you want to talk about Layla and John, yet?” I asked. I knew that he wanted to deal with the whole shocking development with his sister this morning.
“Not yet. Losing her to him is lousy as fuck, but I don’t have a damn say in the matter,” he grumbled.
“It’s going to work itself out. From the way he was at the table, I’d bet any money that he worships her.”
“I guess I could let it go for now.”
“Really? Well, how about we just deal with today before you lose your heart to more Hendricks women.”
“Yes, let’s go eat. Breakfast is ready.”
He scooped me up and hurried me downstairs. I squealed the whole way down, gripping him tight.

Chapter 17
I watched her sip her coffee, mesmerized by her beauty. Her blond highlights caught the sun coming in through the back sliding door. It was still chilly, but the sun was bright. Fuck, I wanted to toss her onto the counter, part her thighs, and thrust into her depths, but she was sore from giving me her virgin pussy last night. I licked my lips. I wanted some sticky honey this morning.
“What’s with that look?” she asked with an arched brow of suspicion.
“Nothing,” I lied as I stalked around the table.
Spinning her chair around to face me, I dropped to my knees. Before she could grasp what I had in mind or try to stop me, I had her pussy bared and her thighs on my
