soft and pretty.
    “Hmm?”
“Thank you, for everything,” he whispered.
“You’re welcome. Thank you for being an amazing lover.”
“It takes two,” he remarked, though he wondered if there’d
be a third to complete them.
Sitting up some, he reached down to the foot of the bed and
unfolded the sleeping bag he’d stowed there, laying it over Eve to keep her
warm when he was outside.
“What are you doing?” she murmured.
“I’m going to get get our phones, your Kindle and my iPad
from the truck so they charge up for tomorrow. Are you thirsty or anything?”
Sighing under the sleeping bag, she sat up. “I’d love to try
one of those lemon-peppermint stick things you’d mentioned.”
“You got it.” Rustling around for his jeans, he pulled them
on, found his Crocs and his jacket and climbed out of the camper.
It didn’t take long to turn on the lantern and retrieve the
electronics. He also grabbed Eve’s reading glasses on the chance she’d need them
tomorrow. Taking everything to the kitchen area, he dug two lemons out of an
ice chest then used a small knife to make holes in each.
Once the holes were done, he put a peppermint stick into
them, creating a makeshift straw. It was an old carnival treat he’d had when he
was a kid. He’d first discovered the treat when he and his family had gone on a
camping trip along the Appalachian Trial.
But as he worked, he felt a peculiar sensation nearby,
watching him. Looking about then up at the sky, he saw nothing but a blanket of
stars. In that a moment, his mind went back to when Eve was about to sheath him
with a condom and was distracted by the sense that someone else had known
they’d become lovers.
He’d no idea who could be there. It could be paranormal in origin.
He could easily fish out his spirit box or digital recorder and do an EVP
session. But this, this didn’t feel supernatural. It was as if the man watching
longed to be part of their twosome.
Great, he and Eve had only gotten together and already he was
imagining wicked scenerios with them and another man. A couple minutes ago he’d
been thinking about his kinks. Maybe that was why he let his imagination get
the best of him.
Thinking he should talk to Eve to see if she’d felt the same
presence around them, he found a breakfast tray in one of the storage
compartments. Quickly, he placed the lemons on it along with the electronics
and returned to the camper.
It was chilly outside, but he became more aware of it as he
opened the door and climbed inside. Closing the door then setting the tray
safely out of the way, he looked over at Eve cocooned under the big sleeping
bag while removing his clothes and shoes.
    She looked edible.
“You look pretty,” he said, staring at her face and
mussed-up hair. His heartbeat sped up simply from looking at her, being near
her.
“Thank you,” she replied, pushing up on her elbow to take
one of the lemons he handed over.
Quickly pulling out a utility drawer, he plugged in the
gadgets and set Eve’s reading glasses in a small bin. Taking his own lemon
treat, he joined her, shivering a little bit as he lifted up the sleeping bag.
“You really think I’m pretty?” she asked.
“Yes, you also look as if you’ve had sex and could use some
more.”
“I had sex with the most amazing man and I’m hoping for
another round. Come closer, you’ve got to be cold,” she urged, sitting up to
lean back against the wall and patting the mattress, the sleeping bag falling
down to expose her pert breasts.
Remy crawled in closer, grateful for her body heat and the
way she covered his legs with the sleeping bag. “Most amazing man, you say? I
like the sound of that.”
Earlier, she’d shown vulnerability when revealing her
breasts and pussy to him. He didn’t understand why. He thought she was the
sexiest woman alive.
“You were outside for a while, everything okay?”
“Everything’s great,” he assured, propping himself against
the wall
