Lawrence wanting to know when they could come party with us.  I sent them back a group message letting them know there had been a family emergency with Jet and Jason’s family and told them it would be a while before either of them would be in a the mood to party.  They both text back wanting to know what was going on, so I told them.  Carley called me first, we talked for about ten minutes then Lawrence beeped in.
“I knew his dad was bat shit crazy but not like THAT!” he said after I answered his call.
“He was bad when I was a kid, you do know he’s the one who killed my dad right?”
“Yeah, I was pretty sure but I knew it wasn’t my place to say anything.  So have you talked to Jet since he got the call?” he asked.
I told him about our conversation and how Jet was really not in the mood to visit.  “Just give him time, he’ll come to you when he’s ready.” Lawrence told me.
“I’m going to Texas on Thursday and I’ll be back early Saturday, hopefully when I get back he’ll want to see me or at least talk.”
“Sweet, I’ll be in Houston those days, hook me up with a ticket to the game woman.  We’ll go out for supper after the game if you can?”
“I’ll text you and let you know, I’m pretty sure we can do whatever after the game.  I ‘ll see you in a few days.” I said with a smile.  We said our goodbyes and hung up.

Tuesday went by with no phone calls or text from Jet and he didn’t bother returning any of my calls or text throughout the day.  He had called the school and let them know he wouldn’t be in his scheduled classes due to a death in the family.  None of the professors knew when he was planning on coming back when I asked if he had mentioned it to the office.  I tried to call Jason but he wasn’t answering his phone either, so I called Jerod and was surprised when he actually did answer.
    “Hey Chass..”
“Hey Jerod, how are things going?  I know that’s a stupid question, I really wish Jet would let me come be with him.”
“Honestly, it’s not good obviously.  Marvin still isn’t back in town, they finally removed the bodies from the house and a clean-up crew just left.  Jason and Jet are staying pretty quiet, my dad and Nate’s other brother are still in shock.  Last any of us knew Nate hadn’t talked to her in years, he had asked Jason about her but never actually talked to her as far as we knew.”
“Why did he do this?  I mean I know he was an alcoholic but why did he go after their mom?  God I can’t believe this.” I said and tried to hold back tears.
“He left each of the boys a lengthy letter but neither of them will let me read them.  I honestly don’t have any idea what he could have put in the letters.”
“Will you please tell Jet that I really want to come be there for him, I feel helpless being here.”
“Chass, he’s not exactly in the right state of mind to be around anybody besides the ones that can bring him down when he’s on a rampage.  Right now he wants nothing more than to beat the hell out of the man that did this but he can’t because his dad shot himself.”
    “Okay, just keep me posted…please?”
“I will, keep me posted how the game goes.”
We hung up, then I started packing for Thursday.
Wednesday classes went by fairly quick, at the practice for the football players we all packed the medical equipment and loaded it into the appropriate totes.  The medical staff gave us the itinerary for game day and told us to meet at the bus after our last class on Thursday.
Thursday I text Jet to let him know that I really missed him and wanted to let him know I was thinking of him and Jason.  As we loaded on the bus to make the short drive to the airport, one of the football players Brody Carlton a sophomore from Florida came and sat beside me.  The football players and the sports med students had all gotten to know each other pretty well, we were constantly picking on each other and
