her in full view of her co-workers? That was just ridiculous.
“ Can’t I be happy to see my woman?” he asked looking at her. Natasha looked at him and smiled.
“ You don’t mind if everyone here knows about us?” she asked. He smiled again and pulled her close for a long lingering kiss that almost left her gasping for breath.
“ Not at all,” he said after letting her go. She felt a shiver go through her. “This might very well be the real deal,” she though as she looked at him.
“ So where are we going?” she asked still in his arms. He smiled at her, a smile that made her a bit nervous.
“ I am not telling you, it’s a surprise,” he said as he opened the passenger door for her. She smiled as she climbed in.
“ It had better be a good one,” she said when he got in and started the ignition. “I’m not a very ‘surprise’ person,” she said holding up finger quotes.
“ I have known you for four months and I can guarantee that you will love it,” he said as he drove them off the company premises. She relaxed in her seat as they cruised down the streets. She suddenly got uneasy when they began heading out of town, towards the outskirts of LA. “He best not be some serial killer,” she thought struggling to regain her composure. “Four months my ass, he may very well kill me.” She looked over at Mitchell who was busy humming to the smooth tunes he had in the car. Soon, they drove into what looked like a landing strip.
“ Where are we?” she asked as she looked at the landing strip in front of them. There was a small plane on the strip and a man who looked like a butler standing right next to aircraft steps. “Who’s that man? Are you going to kill me?” she asked suddenly. She bit her lip when she realize that she had just thought out loud.
“ What?” Mitchell asked looking at her with a smile. He slowly pulled over and got out of the car then rushed round her door to let her out.”Come on,” he said as he took her hand. They walked together to the plane where the butler greeted Mitchell with a smile.
“ Everything set Edward?” he asked the man who smiled back and nodded.
“ Everything is in place Mr. Schmidt,” Edward replied as Mitchell led Natasha inside. Her eyes grew wide when she got inside the plane. The private jet had been prepped for just the two of them. There was a table romantically set for two and a bottle of champagne on ice.
“ Tonight, we are having dinner in San Diego,” he said with a smile as he fastened his seat belt. Natasha looked at him and smiled. Mitchell Schmidt was all that and a bag of chips. She relaxed as they took off wondering what the next few hours had for them. When they got to yet another private landing strip in San Diego, there was a car waiting to take them to Luca Bellini’s, a new Italian bistro in town. The restaurant had been popular from the get go thanks to celebrity chefs and its many high end clients.
As they walked through the doors of the bistro, Natasha could feel sophistication all around her. The hostess led them to a private table with a great view of the ocean. Natasha looked over at Mitchell and sighed. This man was out to spoil her and she loved every minute of it.
After a great dinner, Mitchell decided to take her for a walk on the coastline. She carried her shoes in her hands as they walked hand in hand eying the beautiful sun kissed ocean. They had only been walking for a few minutes when Natasha thought she heard someone call her name but she was not so sure about it.
Tasha,” she heard a male voice call out again. This time she stopped to look around. “Who would possibly know me in San Diego?” she wondered as she turned this way and that. “Hey ma,” she heard a voice behind her. She suddenly turned around to see her ex Jay smiling at her. “Oh fuck,” she thought.
“ Hey Jay,” she said passively. “What are you doing here?” she asked.
“ I came for a seminar. What are you doing here?”
