but I'm guessing the sparklers were her idea.
Evan left the room with Lena trailing him, leaving us to deal with Stacey.
“You're not coming, end of story.” Josh said, nodding his head at Luke to follow him.
I turned to follow Lane, but Stacey stepped in front of me.
“Don't bother, I have nothing to say to you, I don't even wanna say goodbye to you.”
Wait... did I just say 'goodbye' by saying goodbye?
“That goodbye didn't count... and neither did that one.” I said.
She looked hurt, I didn't know why, though, she was the one that had tried to shoot me after all, not the other way around.
Lane and I left her standing in the foyer on her own. I collected my bag and found the others already waiting at the gates for us when we walked outside. There were a few more goodbyes and last minute decisions about which route to take, I sat on a crate waiting until everyone was ready to leave. Finally, after another thirty minutes of the boys trying to organize themselves and sort the van out we were ready to go.
Lena was already sitting in the back of the van, flipping through a magazine with Dan looking over her shoulder. Evan climbed into the van, then he clambered over the seat into the back beside Lena. Josh was still talking to Ryan and Danny, and Luke was still checking under the hood of the van with Lane by his side. He then dropped the hood and went over to say goodbye to the others, and Lane walked over to me.
“You ready?” he asked, taking my bag from me.
“I guess, where's Drew?” I asked, noticing he wasn't with the group, but my question was soon answered when he walked around the back of the van, zipping himself up, having just used the bathroom.
Lane bundled my bag into the van and stood by the door waiting for me to get in. I waved bye to Danny and Ryan, Ryan smiled at me and Danny nodded his head at me. I climbed into the van and slid along the seat to make room for Lane. Josh climbed into the driver's seat and Luke sat shotgun. The door to my right slid open and Drew chucked his bag in near my feet, then he pulled himself in holding his crossbow in one hand, and pushed the door shut again. I rested my boots on my bag and got comfortable as Josh started the van.
Drew didn't give me much room to move, he spread his legs and rested his crossbow across them and got to work cleaning it with a rag from his pocket. He wasn't afraid of me like some of the others. Dan, who was sitting in the back wouldn't come within six feet of me. Drew offered me a piece of gum which I accepted. Josh pulled out onto the road and turned left, and we started our journey towards Colorado. I twisted my head to see the prison and watched as it slowly disappeared from view. I turned slightly and realized Lane was watching me.
    “You okay?” he asked.
“Yeah, I'm okay, I'm just gonna miss it. You know, not just the prison, Ozma as well.”
“You'll see her again.” Lane said, lifting his arm around me.
I snuggled into him and rested my head against his chest, and saw Josh looking at me in the rearview mirror. Did he agree with Lane? Did he really believe there was a cure? Or was he trying to stay strong for me, pretending there was something worth staying alive for? Josh wasn't an idiot, he was smart, and he probably knew there was no cure. I shifted around in Lane's arms and lifted my feet up onto the seat, and watched Drew, who was now cleaning his boots. He caught me watching him and winked at me, which actually made me smile.
“Ah, found it!” Luke said, and a few seconds later, Thirty Seconds to Mars , filled the car. I approved of Luke's choice of music, at least he hadn't decided to bring One Direction along for the car ride. Dan started moaning about how hot it was in the back so Luke lowered his window to get some fresh air circulating. It wasn't that hot, Dan was probably worried he was breathing in my germs. We took the turning off from the main road, the road we had been on led straight into the town
