The Boy and His Wolf
face.
“ I know a girl.” Jacey lifted the drink to her mouth, flashing Marco a squinted face.
“ Oh really?” He raised his eyebrows and rubbed his hands together.
Jacey smacked him in the arm. “Not like that, you dope.”
“ Not yet anyway.” And he licked his lips dramatically.
Jacey grabbed for his nipple, but Marco pulled away. Then she smiled and looked at me. “She’s this cute girl at the supermarket. She saves a case of soda for me once in awhile. That’s all it is.”
“ Sounds serious,” I said, popping the lid off the bucket of chicken.
Jacey slapped at Marco’s eager hands going for the bucket. “Speaking of…”
Dash gave my thigh a squeeze under the table. We had been waiting for lunch to share the news with them. We exchanged a quick look and I couldn’t help but smirk.
“ Oh my God, you two are getting married.” A piece of chicken still hung from Marco’s mouth.
“ No.” Dash shook his head, eyes closed.
I took a breath, excitement fizzing at being able to reveal the news. “I’m moving back to Amber Pines.”
“ What?” Marco stood up, the chicken raised in his hand.
“ Get out.” Jacey slapped the table before she ran over to give me and then Dash a hug. “Really?”
I nodded and placed my hand in Dash’s waiting hand. We spent half of the night talking about our future and I knew without a doubt that I couldn’t leave Amber Pines again. It was my home. Dash and the pack were my family.
“ I still have to go back to L.A. and settle some things but yeah.” I ran my hand through my hair and scratched the back of my head.
“ Your dad has to be ecstatic.” Marco and Jacey exchanged glances.
“ Have you told him?” Jacey asked.
I nodded. “This morning over breakfast. I’ve never seen the man so happy before in my life.”
My dad was in tears after I told him. Hugging me and clapping me on the back. It felt pretty amazing to see him that happy. He was always proud of me, I knew that, but to be coming home was his dream for me. I blinked away tears and the fresh wave of joy.
“ Are you moving back in here?” Marco flicked his head towards the house.
“ Um…” I shifted to look over at Dash.
“ Tanner and I are gonna get a place. A small apartment or something.” His humble demeanor was overpowered by Jacey and Marco’s giddy personalities.
Marco kicked me lightly under the table. “Look at you two moving in and shit. Congrats, guys.”
“ Yes, congrats.” Jacey reached over and gave both of our hands a squeeze. “And welcome home.”

A THANK YOU FROM THE AUTHOR

Thank you so much for reading my novella. I never thought I would actually be published one day and to know that people are reading, and even liking my story, blows my mind. I cannot tell you how much it means to have my characters brought to life and to be able to share their stories with you.

If you liked this story, please head over to Amazon and leave a review. I would personally like to know what you thought. There are more novellas coming. In fact, Marco is about to get busy with a rival pack member who has a secret that will change the future of the Amber Pines wolves. Dun Dun Duunnn! Look for their story in His Willing Beta.

I would love for you to follow me on my Facebook page and friend me on my Facebook profile as well.
