Her arms trembled as she returned to her seat behind her desk. She stared at her computer screen without seeing anything at all. Mary could feel Mr. Gray’s lips on her throat, his rough hands tearing away her blouse to fondle her. She could smell his foreign cologne on her skin, which was strangely pungent. It was wrong. Mr. White was the only one who could touch her. She was his slave.
Mary’s eyes were red with unshed tears. For only a few minutes, he had forced himself on her. Mary shuddered at the memory of his mouth crushing against hers, forcing her lips open with his tongue as he groped her breasts. She felt dirty, but despite her loyalty to her master, she had enjoyed Mr. Gray’s rough assault. Who am I kidding? I loved it.
Whenever she thought of Mr. Gray, she felt disgust mingled with carnal desire. She disliked him for replacing Mr. White’s position and she loathed him for blackmailing her with the pictures of them at the BDSM convention. And yet, heat rushed to her face whenever she thought of him and his rough hands.
After he had finished groping her, he had ordered her back to her desk with the promise that he would fuck her after lunch.
Mary did not know what to do. She had no choice but to comply with his demands; the axe that hung over both their heads was very real, and she could see no way out. Mary thought about emailing Mr. White, but she decided against it immediately. Mr. Gray was probably monitoring her email. She had hoped that he would try to contact her.
The mood around the office was apprehensive. She sensed that although her coworkers may have disliked Mr. White, they did not approve of his dismissal. They did not voice their opinions, but Mary could tell by the way they spoke in clipped tones about Mr. Gray.
Her fingers tapped on the keyboard; she worked with her mind in a fog. She completed an email and copied her new boss. Then she did a number of tasks that Mr. White had assigned to her before he had left. She felt a painful squeeze in her chest. She missed him already. She inhaled a sharp breath as a new email blinked at the top.

She glanced at her watch. It was noon. With a feeling that this could mean nothing but ill, she stood up and began a slow march towards his office. She knocked on the massive doors.
    “Enter.”
When Mary entered, she wondered how she could have ever sympathized with Mr. Gray. His brown eyes were cold and hidden under a pair of horn-rimmed glasses. He spoke in a voice of polite, British indifference.
    “Lock the door.”
Mary hesitated, and Mr. Gray’s eyes narrowed dangerously. She did what she was told, feeling apprehensive.
“I want you to come here and bend over this desk.”
Mr. Gray spoke in a quiet voice, but Mary could sense a storm brewing. Perhaps it was the stiffness of his limbs or his unblinking gaze. Mary suppressed a shudder as she bent over the table, feeling vulnerable as Mr. Gray stood up and walked behind her. He bent near her and placed a sheaf of paper under her face.
    “Read. It.”
A thrill of fear shot through her heart. There was no mistaking the rage in his taut voice. He did not have to yell or shout, as Mr. White often did, she could feel his anger emanating from him in waves.
She looked at the paper. It was a printed out copy of an email Mary had sent. She started reading until she saw it—a typo. “‘Mr. Grey sends his regrets.’
