they’d crossed more lines than he could fathom with the feisty brunette.
“It’s standard procedure. Every reporter at the gala has been through here,” said Grayson. “Come on, let’s get you home.”
“My car. It’s still at the Heartland Tribute .”
“Don’t worry about that now,” said Dominic. He used a hand at her lower back to lead her to his truck. “You’re upset.”
They reached his pickup truck. “Why aren’t you using your cruiser?” she asked.
“It’s Friday,” he said, opening the passenger door for her. “We’re off for the weekend.” She had trouble reaching the high-running board with her tight skirt on. He was about to give her a little shove up, tempted to get his hands on her cute little ass, but Grayson stopped him. He had a smirk on his face. They both stood back to watch her struggle. Her legs went on forever, long and shapely. One of her shoes fell down and she cursed when she had to hop back down to pick it up. She was anything but ordinary.
When she finally noticed they were amused by her attempts to get into the truck with the raised suspension, she stopped dead in her tracks. “What’s funny?” she asked.
    “Having trouble?”
    “A little.”
Dominic trapped her by the side of his truck. She was still angry from her interrogation and now flustered from trying to climb into the passenger’s seat. Her untamed spirit tempted him like an open window to a thief. “Need help?” he whispered close to her ear.
She kept silent, lifting her arms and placing her palms on his chest. Her breathing was labored, and she looked down when she spoke. “You both terrify me.”
He tilted her chin up. “We’re not the bad guys, Stephanie.”
    “Aren’t all men?”
He frowned. What has this girl been through? Dominic had been raised in a traditional home with a gamut of siblings. He’d also done his tour in the army after he graduated college, which was why he was late joining the force. Old-fashioned values were ingrained into him from the time he was born. There were a lot of bad apples out there, and he could attest to that, but there were more than a few good men as well.
“You’ve been looking in all the wrong places if you have to ask me that,” said Dominic.
He hoisted her up into her seat and then walked around to the driver’s side. She was sandwiched in between them on the front bench seat, so small and feminine in comparison to their large frames. Everything about their life was darkly masculine. This woman brought her sweet, vanilla scent into his truck, tucking her pink-painted toes up on the seat to get comfortable. He was falling for her a bit more each minute.

Every bump in the road and dip in suspension traveled all the way to her clit. She had expected never to see these two men again after their intimate encounter at her office, but here they were. After they dropped her off, would that be it? Every moment she spent with them made her more vulnerable, more susceptible to falling in love. This was supposed to be so simple and now couldn’t be more complicated.
At least she’d gotten the interview over with. They’d grilled her over and over about what she’d seen on the night of the car theft. She was now conflicted, wondering if she was right not telling them about the man with the half-moon tattoo who grabbed her and the other who aimed a gun at her. If she recounted the event, she’d no doubt have started crying like a fool and humiliated herself. Without a proper description, her negative experience wouldn’t be a factor in finding the culprits anyway.
As they neared her area, only a few minutes from her apartment, she had a mini panic attack. What if she never saw Dominic and Grayson again? She wanted them, wanted them forever. Which was ridiculous. She couldn’t expect to have the whole Cinderella dream like Tammy. That was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and she didn’t expect it to happen to her, too. But the
