blaming you two because I thought you should have known that I wanted you to stay. I can see now how wrong I was and I really feel badly in the way I treated you two that day.”
They’d been so happy when they’d told her the news about their lucrative job and that they were leaving the next day. She certainly hadn’t wanted to burst their bubble when they’d met for dinner at the local restaurant. She’d simply nodded and concealed her shock and given them the cold shoulder attitude.
“Thankfully Claire and Marley did the talking for you the other night,” Steve whispered against her ear.
“They are genuine caring friends. I hope you don’t hold it against them for telling us personal stuff,” Eric said.
She could barely shake her head as emotions thick and raw swelled unexpectedly into her chest.
Her best friends had done the talking for her. Marley and Claire had said what she should have told the guys.
“Which leads me to my next question,” Eric said. His voice was softer, gentler.
“Do you want us to stay?”
“Of course I do,” she said without hesitation.
“See baby, how easy that was?” Steve murmured. His hot lips swept butterfly kisses over her left shoulder.
Oh wow, his kisses unleashed sweet tingles across her flesh.
“Rachel insisted on picking the pink room for you and she prepared it too, when she found out we wanted you tonight,” Eric said with a grin.
“And Jaxie wouldn’t let us bid on you because we weren’t on her damn list of bidders. She insisted you were going to two other guys who’d put in the highest offer. That was so not going to happen, so we tripled the offer and Jaxie accepted. I’m pretty sure Marley and Claire were in on this auction too. They must have been as there was no mention of you being in the auction when we talked or we would have put our name on the list,” Steve muttered as he kissed a hot line across her shoulder blades.
    Oh damn, that feels good.
“Your lady friends are keepers.” Genuine warmth and appreciation laced Eric’s lust-drenched voice.
That her best friends and the two guys she really liked had gotten together to discuss her was unbelievable. She couldn’t believe her luck at having such wonderful people in her life. She would have to thank everyone for setting this up. Wow, and to think it may never have happened in the first place if she’d just spoken up that night and told the guys what she wanted.
She should have listened to Stacey and fought for what she wanted in life. She wanted them. Sophie sent up a silent thanks to the best foster mom she’d ever had. Stacey had been a single woman who’d opened her door to Sophie when she’d been thirteen and wrapped inside a shell of shyness with no hope.
Because Sophie hadn’t fought for what she wanted, she’d almost lost Steve and Eric forever. The possibility was great that they could simply have gone on with their lives and believed she’d been a bitch.
“And since you’re frowning and feeling so bad about things, we’re going to make you feel really good,” Eric said. She trembled as promise flared in his eyes.
“But first, I need to spank her ass for being such a bad girl in the first place,” Steve whispered against her ear.
    Familiar excitement roared through her.
The men had her on her feet in an instant. Water and bubbles slid off their powerful bodies as they helped her out of the tub. Warm tiles greeted her bare feet, but she didn’t pay much attention to it as Steve sat down on a nearby chair and patted his thigh. His eyes twinkled with invitation.
“Go on, spank-baby, you know the position,” Eric growled from behind her.
She swallowed at her suddenly dry mouth and her legs trembled as Eric helped her lay belly down across Steve’s lap. Her toes touched the tiles and her breasts hung over Steve’s right thigh. She allowed her head to drop, and she splayed her hands onto the floor for some support. Beneath her stomach was the massive
