know.”
Closing the gap between them, he took her in his arms and held her close to him.
                  “Could it be love?”
                  Silence.
“Could it be love, Makeba Jones? I damn sure hope so because I love you.”
Looking up at him with tears in her eyes, she couldn't believe what she had just heard. There was an urgent need to hear it again.
                  “What did you say?”
Stepping back a few paces, he looked deep into her eyes like he was searching for the window to her soul. “I hope so because I’m in love with you.”
Wrapping her arms around him, she jumped up in his arms.
“What in the world would make you think I was not attracted to you physically? Do you know how hard it’s been to contain myself? I have wanted you since the first time I laid eyes on you.”
“Then why haven’t you made love to me yet?”
“Makeba, I’m not going to lie. I’ve been around the block a time or two but you are different from any other woman I have come across. I wanted more with you than rolling between the sheets. I wanted your mind, heart and soul and I knew your body would follow.”
“You whispered you wanted me tonight. Does that mean you think you have those things?”
“At this point I don’t care. This whole week all I’ve thought about was taking you in my arms and doing to you whatever you allowed me to do. I want to get so far inside of you that we become one.”
Sighing deeply she smiled, jubilant that she was wrong. She was wanted just as much as she wanted him. Kissing Declan on the cheek, she backed away from him and walked away.
                  “Where are you going?”
“To take a shower. Can you order some red wine please?”
                  “Anything for you babe.”
                  “Thank you.”
Makeba proceeded to the bathroom while Declan placed a call to guest services and ordered a bottle of red wine, strawberries and whipped cream. After returning the phone to the base, he removed his shirt, undershirt and sneakers. Not long afterwards he heard the bathroom door open. Glancing in that direction, he observed Makeba walking out with a towel wrapped around her body. He beheld her beauty awakening his erogenous zones. Heat rose up in him so fast that beads of sweat graced his forehead. Trying to exercise self-control was like him trying to lift a rock the weight of a ton off his chest. He hurried past her to the bathroom. It was his turn to shower and his would not be a hot one. A cool down was what he needed, immediately.
“Listen for room service. They should be here shortly,” he yelled through the door.
                  “I will.”
Less than five minutes later room service had delivered their order. After tipping the worker, Makeba smiled when she saw the strawberries and whipped cream as her mind began to wander. Peeking into the bedroom provided her a visual of the bathroom door. She was happy to see that Declan had not come out yet. Snatching the strawberries and the whipped cream, she hurried to the bedroom, laid the items on the nightstand then removed her towel. Folding back the covers on the bed, she laid down and began spraying herself with whipped cream grimacing as it chilled her skin. Immediately after, she place a trail of strawberries from her neck down to her vagina. Feeling all giddy inside, she couldn’t wait to see his reaction.
Declan walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist drying his hair with another.
