she just carried on with the restaurant and all of them had a wonderful time.
Isabella saw a new light in Michael’s eyes that she hadn’t seen there before, something alive and inspired, something that made her love him more and feel more connected to him than she had been up to that point. She was watching him, wondering what it was, when he turned to look at her and touched her cheek, smiling at her. He leaned over to her and kissed her softly, and curled his fingers in hers, holding on to her as they listened to their family together.
The night wore away into the wee hours of the morning, and finally it ended, and everyone went their own way home. Michael didn’t want the feeling to end, and he went home with Isabella, reminiscing about the wonderful evening, and falling asleep in her arms in her bed, where they rested soundly until the morning light touched them again.
He woke up to find her watching him. “Did you dream?” she asked softly.
Michael shook his head. “No, I just felt like everything from last night might be gone and I was worried about losing it,” he said quietly.
She touched his cheek and looked into his blue eyes. “You haven’t lost anything and you won’t, you are part of it, now.” She kissed him and he knew she was right. He had a family, a big family, and he was going to be part of it for the rest of his life.

Chapter Four

Isabella was walking up the sidewalk toward Michael’s office a few days later when she saw someone walking out of the door that she could not believe was there. The woman had her blonde hair pulled back over her shoulders and she was wearing a flimsy white dress and heels. Kelsey waved at someone in the doorway and turned toward the street, walking down the steps and then she saw Isabella and stopped short for a moment as a razor sharp smile spread over her red lips.
She paused for a moment and then finished descending the steps and walked down the sidewalk toward Isabella, her hips swaying and the hem of her dress dancing around the middle of her bare thighs. Isabella felt like she might vomit right there in the street.
She stopped and waited as Kelsey walked up to her and stopped before her.
“We should go have a coffee. There’s a little place around the corner,” Kelsey said with a cold smile on her face.
“I don’t have time to have coffee with you. I was just on my way to see Michael. We have some important things to go over for the wedding.” Isabella felt anger bubbling up inside of her.
Kelsey laughed at her, tossing her head back and shaking her blonde waves. “Your wedding.” She leaned toward Isabella and lowered her voice. “I wouldn’t worry too much about planning for that. It won’t last long anyway.”
Isabella gritted her teeth and was just about to tell Kelsey where she could go when Kelsey held her hand up. “Ah, ah… now, be nice, kitten. We really should go for coffee. There are things that you don’t know about, that you should know. Things that might change your mind about that life altering decision you are planning on making, and those things are things that you aren’t going to find out from Michael and Glenn, at least, not until it’s far too late. Save yourself the time and heartache, honey, come talk with me for a while.” Kelsey smiled at her and looked down at her in pseudo sympathy.
Isabella thought about it for a moment and wondered if what Kelsey was saying was true. Part of her wanted to tell Kelsey to get lost and ignore anything she said, and yet there was something nagging at the back of her heart, something that told her that Kelsey wasn’t lying, that there were things she didn’t know that she would want to know. She took a deep breath and nodded.
“Alright, Kelsey, I’ll go with you,” she spoke quietly and Kelsey grinned and flipped her hair back, taking the lead and walking a half a step ahead of Isabella as they turned back down the sidewalk and headed for the café
