sang the song ‘Easy Like Sunday Morning’ must have been on vacation in France, exactly where Mitchell and Natasha were or its equivalent. When the two woke up on Sunday morning, Natasha could not help but take a long deep breath. The area had pine trees and the scent was at its strongest in the mornings.
“ Smells like Christmas,” Natasha said as she woke up. Mitchell laughed.
“ Really? Seasons have smells now?” he asked.
“ What? Pine trees are Christmas trees and their sweet scent makes me think of Christmas,” she said in her defense.
“ Uh huh. Just don’t start singing ‘tis the season’ all up in here,” he said as he draped an arm around her. Natasha smiled and looked at him.
“’ Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la la la la la,” she began singing. He laughed and silenced her with one long kiss. She looked into his eyes when she pulled away from him. “You were great last night. At some point I thought we would wake up the entire chateau,” she said in a low voice.
“ Well, I can’t take all the credit. That black lingerie you had on had a lot to do with it,” he said. “A lot,” he added, nodding. She smiled and shrugged.
“ Well, wait till you see what I have planned for you later,” she said. Mitchell’s eyes lit up. He almost looked like a kid who had just been told that he was being given a free trip to Disneyland.
“ You do remember that we have to be getting back today, right?” he said. Natasha frowned.
“ Don’t remind me. I don’t ever want to leave,” she said. Mitchell smiled.
“ I know,” he said as he used his index finger to softly caress her cheek.
“ Does that make me sound like a terrible mother? Am I becoming one of those women who neglect their children just because they need time to themselves?” she asked, still frowning. Mitchell smiled and shook his head.
“ You will never be one of those women. You are one in a million and there is no way I could have ever done better,” he said before kissing her forehead. She smiled and looked into his eyes.
“ Sometimes I think I am the one who could have never done better. Most of the times I consider myself the lucky one,” she said. He shook his head.
“ That is not possible,” he said in a whisper before he kissed her softly. “So, where do we go today?” he asked.
“ I don’t know. Let’s just get out of bed first and then we’ll see from there,” she said, smiling. Mitchell smiled and let her go. He watched her as she walked to the bathroom where she turned on the shower.
The better part of the next hour was spent with them arguing about the bathroom situation. Mitchell wanted them to shower together to “save time” but Natasha thought that saving time meant some shower quickie and she was not up to that, at least not before breakfast. The way Mitchell had handled her the night before ensured that she was famished. After showering, Mitchell put on a pair of jeans and a fitted t-shirt that flattered his physique and Natasha put on a long blue strapless dress and a pair of sandals. She took Mitchell’s advice to let her hair down and “flaunt her curls” as he had put it and together they went downstairs for breakfast.
When Natasha made her order, she surprised even the waiter. She asked for waffles, a pancake, toast, a Spanish omelet, bacon and coffee.
“ Woman, is there something I need to know?” Mitchell asked smiling. Natasha rolled her eyes.
“ I’m just hungry, Mitchell and there is so much to do today. I need my energy,” she said. The waiter smiled and looked at Mitchell.
“ And what will you have monsieur?” he asked.
“ I’ll have what she is having save for the waffles, toast and pancake,” Mitchell said with a smile.
“ Oui,” the waiter said before walking off. She smiled at him as he looked at her.
“ I am tempted to ask why you need all that energy. What do you have planned for me?” he asked. She shook her head and interlaced her
