my stage name.

Really now? “Oh, OK. Thanks.”

He nodded and closed us off from one another once again. I took a good look at my outfit and groaned. Going to set meant meeting Mason’s co-workers/friends. I didn’t know a damn thing about any of them except their names and I was about to make a sloppy first impression. If Mason said a word I would strangle him; right after I let him know it was his own fault.

The limo driver ceased being helpful when we reached the set. He left me and my small suitcase right where we got out and pulled away. I looked around wearily.

“Fallyn?”

I turned to the sound of the voice, which I didn’t recognize until I saw the face.

“Yeah, hey…you’re Lynn right?” I asked, almost sure I was right. I had at least seen ‘Storming the Shores’ and knew that Lynn was Rebecca, which at that time, she was in full costume for.

“I am,” she exclaimed. She came toward me and pulled me into a hug. “Mason mentioned you were flying in for a little while. I’m on the way to my trailer; you can come and hang out with me until Mason’s done if you want.”

She’s really nice. “Oh great…I wasn’t sure where to go.”

I grabbed my things and walked alongside her. I checked her out inconspicuously as we went. She was extremely pretty and looked far more amazing than me in heels. I wondered how much Mason has said about me to Lynn or anyone else for that matter.

“How was your flight?” She asked.

“It was nice; well first class was nice.”

Lynn laughed and held her trailer door open so I could get my bag up the small steps. “First class is a perk and just one of them. I saw the episode you did for CSI…it was impressive.”

It’s possible that I blushed. “Thank you. It was my first job you know.”

“Mason mentioned that. I called him a few weeks ago before shooting started and demanded to know why the hell he’d been avoiding everyone.” She laughed lightly and took her heels off. “Come to find out he’d been busy spending all his time with you.”

“Yeah, well we sort of bonded.” I don’t know what I was doing. Lynn was easy to talk to and I liked her. We sat in her trailer, drinking bottled water for the longest time.

Eventually, she glanced at the clock and then at me. “Mason should be finishing up soon. Want me to take you over there?”

Lynn and I had plenty to talk about and it was amazing. Deep down, she had some of the qualities my sister had before she was lost. We giggled, yes I giggled , all the way to location. Mason was standing under a white tent in full Jasper get up but came right for me as soon as he realized I was there. Lynn moved to the side, laughing as he rushed me and spun me around once. When he finally sat me down again, he kissed me and I was in shock.

“It is so good to see you again.”

    Chapter 9

All it takes is one person to turn your life in a different direction. You never know who that person is or when they will show up but be certain they will. When said person tries to tell you the reality of things; believe them.

Mid-August 2009

“You two are absolutely disgusting. I think I threw up a little in my mouth.” Mason screwed his face up at Lynn and I as we ate breakfast.

I looked at Lynn and grinned. “He’s just jealous.”

“Jealous my ass. No one in their right mind puts butter on pop tarts. That’s... I can’t even look at you while you eat.” He grimaced and turned his head.

“Go to work then,” Lynn suggested. She took a big bite.

Mason grabbed his coffee and winked at me before heading toward the front of the hotel and through the front door. Lynn giggled next to me, with her mouth full. It was mere coincidence that she
