He had just finished a morning of onsite vet visits in the
inner city. Never having been to a medium before, he was a little
apprehensive. As I began the session I was surprised at the num-
ber of dogs, cats and other animals that were close to him in spirit.
Although they were all loving and seemed to want to connect with
Kevin, I knew that it would not be possible to talk to all of them.
From Fear to Courage ~ 59
“There are quite a few dogs, cats and other animals close to
you.” I told him. “Is there any particular pet or animal that you
would like for me to connect with?”
Quite often when I ask a client this question, spirit answers. Im-
mediately this happened and I told Kevin. “A brown long haired
medium sized dog just came forward.”
Dogs, cats and other animals tend to communicate with me
through visual images. This is what Kevin’s dog began to do.
“He is showing me a bedroom. It has several large windows that
look out over a yard. There is a large red dog bed in the room. I
take it this is his bed. I see him lying in it.”
I look at Kevin and I see that he is staring straight ahead. “This
is why I am here.” He says. “That is my dog Prince. The bedroom
you described is mine. His bed is near my bed.”
“Prince is also showing me an office. He shows me it from a
dog’s point of view. He is looking up at the table. I get the impression from him that he is trying to help you.”
“Is he really with me?” Kevin asks. “Or is he showing you images
from the past.”
“I am not sure.” I tell him.
I tune into Prince and he seems very happy. He is wagging his
tail. “I am getting the message that he is with you now, in spirit, sleeping near your bed and in your office with you.”
“That is interesting. I have had the feeling that he is still with
me. This is why I decided to come in for a session.” Kevin looks
more serious and continues. “I woke up from a deep sleep soon
after he died hearing him moan. I thought it was my imagination.
But it happened a few more times. Then one day in my office I was
working on a dog that was lethargic and weak. I was not sure what
was causing this. Then in my mind’s eye I saw my dog Prince. I felt like he was trying to help me. It was almost like he was directing me to certain areas in the dog’s body. I felt like I was crazy.”
60 ~ From Fear to Courage
I explained to Kevin that animals do not view death like we do.
Prince was with him. There was no doubt of that. He was a wise
soul who wanted to be helpful to Kevin in any way that he could.
“He was a wise soul when he was in body too.” Kevin enthu-
siastically tells me. “I could always depend on him. He gave me
strength. I know it sounds strange but I felt like he gave me the
courage to start the mobile unit. I always wanted to do this but I
was not sure I could make a living. It was expensive to get going. I knew I would have to take out a big loan. Mobile units are a great
way to reach animals and their owners, but they do not make much
money. My financial fears almost kept me from following through.
But, Prince just seemed to calm my nerves. I miss him so much. “
Prince had a few other things to share with Kevin. It meant a lot
to Kevin to know that he was alive in spirit and still with him. As I was finishing up my communication with Prince, Kevin’s grandfather also came through for a visit. He was proud of Kevin and his
accomplishments.
“You did it all on your own.” He said. “I wish that I could have
helped you. But I guess you didn’t really need it.”
I was about to end the session when another man came in that I
could not immediately place.
I told Kevin. “There is a thin, medium height man with grey
hair who just came in. He holds himself tightly. I feel like he was a family member on your mother’s side. His name begins with a B,
maybe Bill or Bob. I get the impression that he was successful in
business.”
“I am
