“Whatcha working on?” he asked.
While pouring coffee into a mug, she had placed the pen back into her mouth and now talked around it, “I’m writing a brief on Ponzi schemes for my White Collar Crime class.” She muttered through the pen. “Cream and sugar?”
“Just some sugar, please.” Seth answered. “Aww, good ol’ Bernie Madoff, the stockbroker that got the sentencing from hell… a hundred and fifty years, I think.”
“Yeah, that’s right…” Jen said, handing over the mug. “So what’s up?”
“So, here’s the deal Jen, I’ve talked to everyone on my list of guys that you named off when we first spoke. And, I’m coming up short.”
“You wanna sit down?” Jen asked.
“Sure,” Seth sat down at the breakfast table and Jen sat across from him. “While doing some deep,” He paused. Oh yeah, I was deep alright. Shit, he needed to get it together. He politely coughed and started again. “While doing some deep thinking, I had the thought that this guy might be someone that you may have met on the internet. Social media of some kind, or had some type of email transaction with… so what I was hoping for, was to see if I may have access to your Facebook or emails and such.” Seth took a sip of the coffee that was clearly made yesterday.
“All I’m saying is there might be a clue in there for me, to catch this guy that did this to you.” Seth explained.
“Yeah, of course.” Jen looked around the table for her laptop. “As far as Facebook goes, I’m hardly on there, and all the friends I have on there are just family members. But my email… yeah… I’ll get that info for you.” Jen said frantically.
“Hmmm, yeah. That’s great, but before we actually get to that.” Seth looked at Jen with concern in his eyes. “How have you been sleeping? Better yet, have you been sleeping?”
“Well, you see, I have all these papers I need to write, and there’s a bunch of homework I need to catch up on.” Jen tried to explain.
“Is it because of the incident that happened?” Seth asked softly with sympathy and concern in his voice.
Jen pulled the pens from behind her ears one at a time. “I just keep thinking about why. What did I do to make him do that to me?” Jen’s eyes turned glassy with tears.
“You did nothing. This is not your fault in any way.” Seth leaned in to comfort her. “I will catch this guy, and I will bring him to justice. I promise you, and with your help we’ll catch this guy as fast as we can.”
“So, how about we do this. What’s the log-on and password of your social media accounts and your email? I’ll go through and see if I see anything, and you go and get some rest.” Seth said, returning to his business like tone.
“I’ll try,” Jen said while rubbing her eyes.
Jen wrote down her log-in information and passwords on a sheet of paper and handed it to him.
“I’ll take it from here, you go lay down and get some rest.” Seth said while standing up, smoothing the wrinkles from his suit jacket. “If you still have trouble sleeping, I want you to call down to the station… you still have my card, right?”
Jen nodded in confirmation that she did.
“Ask for Ashley and she’ll get you contact with a counselor that can help you. Okay?” Seth said, his eyes showing nothing but concern. Jen agreed and made a mental note to do just that. She couldn’t keep putting on this front like she was totally ok forever.

Chapter Fourteen
A s Seth walked into the precinct he saw Moore sitting at the front desk. They both glanced at each other and gave the universal sign for what’s up with a head nod . Moore ended their manly greeting with the middle finger, and Seth laughed as he walked by. Walking into his office, Ashley was typing away at the computer.
“Whatcha workin on Ash…?” Seth asked as he dropped the case file down on the desk.
    “Oh sir, you’re here… I’m a working on uh, doing a report… I mean, I’m working on your
