“I do have to say I like your aunt,” Lucy whispered to Duke as they made their way to the limos while Tish showed the children how to work the cameras.
“Well, she sure likes you and so does my uncle. I’m really sorry about earlier. We really only went out with her a few times. I don’t know why she even thought to come here,” Nolan said as they stepped up to the car.
“It might go over better if you wipe the red lipstick off of your face before you grovel,” her friend Scotty said, patting his shoulder as she climbed into the limo.
Leave it to her friends to… She shook her head and dug into her purse for a wet cloth she had saved for the kids, but never used. Lucy stepped up to Nolan, wiping the lipstick off his face. “I thought I would have to use this for the children, not the men that claim to be mine,” she said, smiling and placing a little kiss on his lips before getting into the car behind her friends.
“Now I know you have a gem there, because if that would have been Tish, she would have ripped my head off after killing the bimbo,” his uncle said, before getting into the limo right behind her.
“It’s not my place to get angry with them. We are not committed to each other yet,” she told his uncle, when Duke moved into the car followed by Nolan.
“Now that is where you are wrong, little Lucy. We are very much committed to you,” Duke said, placing his arm behind her. “And if any man comes snooping around, I bite,” he said making Roman giggle.
“I thought biting was bad?” Roman said.
“You’re not a wolf, so it is. Don’t you start biting, Roman, Duke was teasing.” Lucy glared at Duke who smiled.
“Your mommy is right, little guy. Biting can get you into a lot of trouble. I was teasing your mom,” he said leaning over staring at Roman. “Now, I might get a little mad if a man shows up and tries to date your Momma especially since she will be our wife soon. Plus, I have two little children who are mine,” he growled and tickled the little boy. “I protect what is mine.”
Karla looked at her. “Can he protect us from...”
Duke reached over and put his finger on her mouth. “You don’t even have to ask. Karla, I will keep saying it over and over till you believe me. You two will be protected at all costs, along with your momma.”
“Maybe I should have grandpa pay him a visit? He should be able to get into that place without anyone seeing him,” Randy grumbled.
“Yeah, then they’ll come looking for me. Just leave him alone. Of course, if he is out of jail, then it’s fair game.” Lucy said.
For the next 30 minutes, Tish showed Roman and Karla how to use their cameras while Lucy stared down at her phone. Duke was busy speaking with Nolan and his uncle and she wasn’t about to start trouble, but the text messages she was receiving right now were not a good sign.
Her phone vibrated again and she looked down to see another one.
You can run, but I’ll find you and I’ll make you pay for taking my children. Tell me how many men have you let between your legs, you whore. I can’t wait to shove my knife up inside you, cutting you so no man will ever be able to touch you.

Duke frowned and glanced down at Lucy who just shivered next to him. “What’s wrong?” he asked and she shook her head turning her phone over.
“Nothing,” she whispered. “Oh my! Is that your home?” she asked, changing the subject as they pulled up to their home.
He leaned over and whispered in her ear. “I’d rather you don’t say anything than lie. Yes, this is our home.”
She looked up at him, but didn’t say a word, digging in her purse as the door was opened. As she went to get out, Lucy handed her phone to home. “1044,” she said getting out.
Stepping outside Nolan moved to his side as he punched the numbers into her phone, unlocking it and froze at the message he saw. The wolf rushed forward, but Duke held back knowing if he went crazy,
