virile as mine!” Rissa crowed, but Calli held up her hand.
“ If you are serious about getting them back, and helping us, I think we can all work together and make this happen,” Calli said.
“ I will do anything,” Sydney said and then began to worry when the women began to laugh and pull her behind them.

Chapter Eight

The head of the Prentiss Agency leaned back in his chair and put a hand to his forehead.  He may be the leader on paper and in the public eye, but he certainly didn’t call the shots.  No, the pain in his ass in front of him did and she was driving him bat shit crazy.
“ Where are they, they couldn’t have disappeared.  So far they have blown up two of our stations and left the most annoying notes all over the fucking town.  The bitches are making my husband look bad, and I can’t have that, neither can you if we want to remain in power,” the woman said.
“ I have sent out so many people searching for them, I have had to pull some off the perimeter of containment elsewhere.  We are stretched thin enough, we need to find at least one of them and make an example of them,” the Bondi King said.
“ You will do what I tell you to do, we need to find the books, and all of them must be together, that is the key!” she yelled.
“ What the fuck are you talking about now?” the Bondi King said, looking at the President’s wife as if she had gone mad.  Over the last few weeks, she had become more and more impatient about finding one or more of the Drekinn.
She turned to him and growled.  “ I don’t have to tell you everything, only what you need to know.  All you need to know is we have got to find the ancestors of the Chosen and find their records.  There and only there will we find the answers we seek.  Then we will win the war.  Now, get to it and bring me one of their heads on a fucking platter.”
The wife of the human president stormed out of his office and he sighed with relief.  She was crazy, ever since she had been instrumental in the fall of the Drekinn she had become unbearable.  It was getting to the point though that they were going to have to kill her because her voice was way to shrill.  It gave him a headache whenever she came into the room.  Besides, she had no clue what she was talking about.
The ancestors of the Chosen were not the key to anything, they were just a pain in his ass.  He intended on making the lot of them bow to him and acknowledge his superiority over them, then he would have the adoration of the entire magi cal community.

Chapter Nine

Since they had been walking and talking, Kiki really felt the connection between them grow and strengthen.  Thomas opened himself up to Kiki and explained some things he had not known about.  His childhood hadn't been the best nor had it been the worst—it just was.
His cousins on his mother ’s side raised Thomas.  They had a lot of children so Thomas had just kinda gotten lost in the shuffle.  Well no more, Kiki was going to make sure the man knew he was the most important person in the world to him.
As they had walked, Thomas had taken his hand and held on firmly.  The touch had felt wonderful and he smiled when he remembered how almost unconsciously his mate had rubbed the back of his hand.  It m ade him feel like they were the only two in the world.
Kiki and Thomas only had to walk about ten miles and they could see the chimney smoke rising.  The clan they had been searching for was right there, they could both feel the wards the witches had put into place.  Thomas held up a hand and Kiki stopped.
“ Let me go first,” he whispered.
“ Well duh,” Kiki laughed and rolled his eyes.
“ Behave, or I will deal with you when we get home.”  Thomas laughed.  Kiki winked at him and smiled.
    As they entered into a clearing Kiki was pushed a little behind his mate, and Thomas didn’t let go of his hand.  No one was there and they couldn’t see anything;
