Akiko interrupted his thoughts.
“Hi, yes, thank you, I ’ll keep all that in mind” Mark said.
“You keep that in mind, and I also want you to keep something else in mind. No matter what my sister says about me, I’m not a tease.”
“Oh come on,” argued Mark. “In the short time that I’ve known you, I’ve seen all of your skin, and you’ve kissed me.”
Akiko tilted her head to the side and flashed him an alluring smile. Then she whispered, “That’s true, Mark, but I really meant business. So, if you and I went out on a date…”
“ If that were even possible, Akiko,”
“ You aren’t seeing anyone now, are you Mark?”
    “ Tanya.”
“ Even then, I heard she’s leaving for England soon. Besides, knowing Tanya, I don’t think you guys are sleeping together, are you? ”
    Mark didn’t answer.
    Akiko’s face turned sad.
“ Maybe it’s not Tanya, or even my sister. Maybe, maybe, you just don’t like me. I don’t know why, but some men just don’t,” Akiko said sighing, looking down at the floor while she spoke. A small tear ran down the right side of her face. “But maybe I can just respect you for not giving in so easily. You’re different from other men, Mark. I’m sorry that Tanya is going away. I’m sorry my sister’s not dating you. I wonder what she did to blow her shot. But Cheryl got closer to you than I ever will, so maybe I can be happy for her at least.”
As Akiko got up from her seat, she left a card with her cell number scribbled on the back.
“Mark, you remember that email you first got from Cheryl?”
    “What about it?”
    “I wrote it.”
    W ith that, she left.

Mark walked home, arguing with himself.
Maybe I should have fucked her after all.
He entered his apartment. The phone rang. It was Tanya.
Now that we’re not dating anymore, she actually calls me.
    “How are you?”
“Not so good Tanya. I bumped into Akiko at the café.”
“ Did you end up going off somewhere to, well…”
“Fuck her? No way! She did let me know that I had access to her, though.”
“I ’ll bet you can’t get your mind off her now. How many times have you imagined doing her since?” Tanya asked, amused.
“Oh, I didn’t imagine it at all. I mean, can you imagine her and me? Really, I’m insulted you’d even think…”
    “Don’t b ullshit me, Mark.”
    “Excuse me?”
“ Under normal circumstances, talking to your ex-girlfriend or anyone else for that matter, your answer is acceptable and really should be the only one you give. However, you need to stop thinking of me as your ex-girlfriend and start thinking of me as someone you fully trust. Because that’s the only way I can help you. So be completely honest. This is driving you nuts, right?”
“Yes it is. So to answer your question, I only imagined fucking her once since seeing her at the cafe.”
    “I don’t believe it ’s only once.”
“Listen, my “mental penis” has been in her “mental vagina” since she sat down with me. It’s in there right now, as a matter of fact, just thrusting away. So that only counts as ONE TIME. Are you happy now?”
“Oh my G od that’s hysterical! I just love this honesty! So, when are you going to let out the mental come ?”
“I think I’m going to be letting out some real come soon.”
Tanya stopped laughing. “I did ask you to be honest, so I probably shouldn’t have asked you that. Sorry.”
“I t’s O.K. I want you to know, I am being honest when I say that I wish I wasn’t thinking about any of this.”
“That I do believe. It can be troubling when sex dominates your thoughts.”
“Do you still think about having sex with me?” Mark asked, with a smile she nearly heard over the phone.
“Wait a minute. I made no promise to be so honest with you, and you’re not training me, got it?” Tanya said firmly.
“Just like a woman ,” Mark said with a sigh.
“Exactly, and I’m going to keep acting like a
