installment of the Universal governor was the most blatant.  The 300 million Universals were represented in the AWR by Governor Darisam; a charismatic fifty year old native from New York. His biography was well known to the world. In 2025, Vale Darisam was a relatively unknown ‘new age’ religious guru when he started the Church of the Universal Creator using his sizable inheritance. The tenets of Darisam’s universal theory were little more than a reincarnation of the radical dualism of Gnosticism, focusing on the material world now being the realm for dark forces and the anticipated arrival of an equally powerful divine force.
Even among members of the other religions, this old message found a new audience in the midst of the economic downturn and eventual collapse of the world economy. Their ranks swelled even more after the Six Hour War and ensuing pandemic.
By 2029, in the span of just five years, Darisam’s followers outnumbered all of the other long established religious sects and he was handpicked by Prime Rothstein to represent this new configuration of followers as its governor in the AWR. And for all practical purposes, because of the numbers that followed him and his rare ability to appeal to just about everyone he met, Darisam completely directed AWR policy– just as designed.

 CHAPTER 11
Old Cairo Base – Central Italy
T he main viewer in the C7 command center showed an enlarged image of the Kadingir wormhole. The mouth of the wormhole had been forming for nearly five minutes, when a shield probe cleared the event horizon.
“Emperor Suen-Nergal’s fleet has successfully accelerated the stabilization phase,” Rothstein declared as the council observed the shield probe position itself at the inner ring of the wormhole.
After the Ansharian discovery of a dark matter nebula in the Saloumir system, they were able to harvest a sufficient quantity of it to construct this one probe. The probe was equipped with an axionic dark matter shield which projected a locally mass-negative region of space-time just ahead of its path through the throat of the wormhole. Once it arrived at the mouth, the probe established a stationary position, preventing its collapse and increasing the diameter of the portal.
The first vessels through were six small scout ships that emerged in pairs followed by twelve frigates and a destroyer. The ships maneuvered into a defensive perimeter around the portal as the main carrier, the Kashurra, began to emerge. The 2,500 foot long Kashurra punched through the wormhole, resembling a colossal metal zeppelin with the top half flattened. The forward two-thirds of the carrier were sleek and minimalistic in its outer hull design. Through this section the exterior was completely smooth with only the portholes lining the sides. The deck of the ship was also smooth with the large hanger doors providing the only discernible geometric patterns.
At the carrier’s stern, the fifty story high superstructure was the opposite of the forward minimalistic design. The structure was supported by a 650 foot tall center partition that resembled a giant vertical stabilizer on a commercial jetliner. Extending from each side of the support partition, relatively thin command pods about twenty-five foot tall stretched outward. There were twenty pods running up each side from the base to the top of the partition fin. The lower pods near the deck of the Kashurra were about 300 foot wide but uniformly reduced in length until they tapered off at the top of the partition with a length of only 100 foot.
The Kashurra’s bridge was located about half way up the superstructure and consolidated levels ten through eleven. It contained the helm, communications and command positions that controlled the entire fleet.
