I did not see this coming. But I will do all in my power to prevent it.”
â€œI find it really hard to digest this. So much has happened so quickly. I don’t envy you, except for the flying thing, perhaps,” Paul smiled at his friend then suggested getting back to the hotel as he was shattered.
They arrived at the hotel, went straight to their room and slept through to the latter hours of the morning. When they awoke, Paul asked Draylon if they could head back to Easter Island the next day. Draylon thought it a good idea and suggested they spend the rest of their day relaxing. Paul acquiesced. Draylon noticed that although he enjoyed resting for the night, there was absolutely no need; his body felt charged, as if he had a battery with limitless reserves, but Paul deserved a rest, so he was more than happy to lounge around for a while.
It was Wednesday 2nd February; they awoke early, washed, got dressed, and checked out of the hotel. They spent the day relaxing, drinking, chatting, enjoying the sights, and by early evening, they got a taxi to the airport and booked their flights to Easter Island. Eventually, it was time to board the plane. They got on, found their favourite seats in the safer rear part of the plane, and then the captain announced their departure. The plane took off, first stop, Madrid with a long layover, and then on to Santiago with another long layover, and eventually on to Easter Island, estimated time of arrival Saturday 5 – February, just after midday.

Chapter Eight – The beginning
It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon on Easter Island. They got off the plane and Paul took the deepest breath. He felt like a changed man. It had only been a month since that night when he first saw the light in the sky, but it seemed like more. He felt relaxed now and was enjoying the fact that he had enough money to not have to work for several years if he so wished, and it was a good feeling. They went through customs and left the airport. They both decided to walk to Paul’s flat and enjoy the warm day. Draylon asked if Paul would be wanting his old job back. Paul said that maybe in time he would, but not just yet. He said that he was thinking about writing a science fiction novel about their adventures and laughed. Draylon frowned at his friend and then laughed too.
Once at Paul’s flat, Draylon said that he quite fancied a run. Paul said that he would see him in about an hour then; there was a tremendous rush of wind.
    â€œI’m back!”
â€œThat was a little quick, where did you go?”
â€œJust around the outskirts of the island.”
    â€œUnbelievable, you’ve only been gone a second.”
â€œI know. Running isn’t quite the same now, I must admit, but I’ll save money on transport, I suppose.”
â€œMaybe later we should go to the quarry, or maybe Tongariki, where you found the tablet in the Moai. I think if no one is around, we should check out your abilities and find out what you can really do, what do you think?”
â€œI think that’s a plan. I’m going to go and see Adriana; I’ll catch up with you later.”
â€œGood luck! Say hi for me, I’ll catch up with her sometime soon.”
Paul went straight to his bedroom and crashed out on the bed, deep in thought. He smiled to himself. He could not believe all of the places he had been and all of the adventures. Most of all, Paul found it hard to believe that he had actually been dead, and that he played his part in Draylon’s foretold destiny. One thing he did know is that he was going to enjoy his life; he was going to be more outgoing and milk every last drop out of every day. Paul put his MP3 player on, relaxed and closed his eyes.
Draylon arrived at the supermarket where Adriana worked. He walked in and saw her at the rear of the shop stacking shelves. He felt nervous. She turned to see him, her eyes lit up; they walked over to each other and
